1. I know this is an old thread, but for anybody wondering, I heard it takes 4 weeks, but for me it was about 2 weeks after I submitted my application to the BON. It's faster if you pay the $200 to Pearson in advance (which is what I did).
2. Thank you!! And good luck with your exam! You got this!
3. YES! I did it! I PASSED!! It can be done! :) And the PVT worked in my case
4. I just realized that this thread is OLD! Lol! Anyway, disregard my last comment. Hope everything went well with the exam you took 4 yrs ago Hoping it's still possible to pass NCLEX w/out studying in 2016
5. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story! Hope it helps those who have become discouraged :)
6. Hi! I graduated from my program on May 12, got my ATT on May 27, and took the NCLEX the very next day. I haven't gotten my official results yet but I tried the PVT after more than 48 hrs and did get the good pop up. I didn't really do anything to prepare other than the ATI exams required for my program, and I did a few (maybe around 100) practice questions from the NCLEX Mastery app. I was planning on studying more but when I saw that I could schedule my exam for the very next day I just wanted to get it over with lol. I figured since I just graduated everything should still be fresh in my mind. My exam shut off after 75 questions. I will let you know whether I passed (: Good luck!
7. Hi roz! Grats on getting in! Me and Mary are planning to meet around 8:30. Since she already gave you her number I guess she'll fill you in on the details (: Looking forward to meeting you!
8. Mary, I have the syllabus from last semester for NURS 210 and this is the schedule they have: Example of weekly schedule

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY

Class-Lecture 0800 - 1100 (Clinical preparation during clinical weeks) Laboratory 0800 – 1330 Includes lunch Lab/Clinical* 0630 - 1400 Includes lunch Laboratory 0800 – 1330 Includes lunch Lab/Clinical* 0630 - 1400 Including lunch Lab (?) 0900 - 1200 NURS 212: 0900 – 1200 NURS 211: 1300 - 1500

**Students should follow the calendar for the course. The course will be doing a variety of activities in order to be prepared for the clinical experience. I'm not sure about Thurs/Fri cause in the syllabus it said lab on Fridays but I looked at the class availability and we're supposed to have patho and NURS 211 on Fridays, so maybe they changed lab to Thurs (?) See you at orientation! EDIT: Just found this

Monday 0800-1100 Tuesday 0800 - 1330 5 hours + lunch Wednesday 0800 - 1330 5.0 hours + lunch Thursday 0800 - 1330 5.0 hours + lunch Friday 0900 - 1500

9. Nevermind.. I found a place. If anyone is also looking, the Medical Corner has it.
10. Have any of you gotten your flu shot? I went to 3 different Longs and 1 Walgreens and they all say they don't have it anymore b/c it's off season. They'll only have the new vaccine in August. Does anybody know of some place that still has it?
11. Elly, I agree that you should go to the KCC orientation... You'll need to do all the health requirements anyway for UH! It'll keep your options open in case something does pop up. Plus I'd love to meet both of you (:
12. Nope, no kids... just a bunny :) But I'm pretty sure he can handle himself haha. I'm recently divorced and did not have any children with my ex-husband (guess that's partially a good thing).. but looks like I won't be having any.. at least for a while now lol until I get through school. Do you have relatives here that could help watch your baby? I keep hearing that nursing school really takes over your life
13. Kiana, I didn't take PHRM 203 during the summer, but I heard Dr. Farmer's online class from Maui college is supposed to be pretty easy (: ..Not sure if he offers it during the summer, but you might want to check! (: BTW localboi, which school did you go to and do you have any advice for us new nursing students? :)
14. Omg YAY!!!!!! That's awesome news!! Now you can breathe a huge sigh of relief! Do you already have all your health requirements done, since you had to do them last year? I just need the CPR training and flu shot then I'll be done (:
15. You're very welcome! :) Just wanted to let you know what the advisor told me. When you have time you should see a nursing advisor too and show him/her your scores, etc. so they can tell you what you should work on to have a strong application. You could even ask how their point system works. But the advisor I saw did tell me that they award the most points for the TEAS. Thanks! Yeah, I'm very excited but very scared at the same time! LOL:nailbiting: Mostly scared about dealing with actual patients but how else are we gonna learn, right?! I know it's gonna be a lot of hard work for the next 2-3 years. Good luck on the studying! I really admire your perseverance and I know you will be a nurse one day! (:
