Thanks everyone! Pretty excited.. all the stress is paying off.. although i doubt this stress is anything compared to what the program will bring..lol mmtangi. Sure. My stats are a 3.7 for all pre reqs including pharm 203, ATI score of 85%, i have my CNA and work in a private home now providing care. I also had a recomendation from Castle Medical where i volunteered and from my A&P professor. I know they say all the extras dont count for points, but i figured it couldn't hurt. I applied last semester with a 79 ATI and was alt listed. I was alt listed this too, but got lucky i guess! The higher ATI score possibly? Mary, ill chat with you tmrw about childcare. She lives in Kapahulu and i would trust anyone else with my keikis, and thats not being bias..lol. She is amazing with the keiki. YAY!!!

Hi All, I was following this post in the beginning, but then decided to stop because i was Alt listed for KCC and i found myself obsessing..lol. I just received my letter of acceptance from KCC! YAY. It sounds like you guys are planning on meeting before the orientation, i would love to meet up too! My name is Rosalyn. Also Swartie17 you mentioned you have a kid and might be looking for daycare? How old is your child? My mother-in-law runs an in home daycare, she is pretty amazing. Anyways.. im so excited ti be starting the program and looking forward to seeing all of you!! Here we go!!

My experience with the Pharm class was with LCC. It was stupid easy, i honestly did not learn a thing and i know that i will be kicking myself come the program. I do know that if you take the class from KCC they take that into consideration for applicants because it is a much harder course. The one from Maui my friend took and said it was an easy A as well. So if your lookin for easy go online. I wish i would have taken KCC course, im paying to learn, not get an easy A=) This waiting around is getting old! Is anyone still going to the orientation tomorrow?

The lady said they have not mailed out a second letter yet. that alternate students will know in mid november if they are accepted or not. Grrr... it a hard getting mixed information. I guess we can ask all our questions next friday. I dont like being in limbo waiting!!! Have u finished all your health requirments?

WOW!! great news for you guys! So happy you got into to UH! Ellers, i never applied to UH, my test scores were not good enough. It sounds like there are a few more spots opening though. Im super excited for CPO and Cougar. The journey begins=)

I had to take a break from thinking about the program! What a let down. A friend of mine got accepted to KCC this semester. Her teas was 86 and gpa 3.8, all coreqs and she has her CNA but no hands on experience. She also applied for UH, but she said she will be going to KCC either way. I hope people who have applied to both will be going to UH not KCC. Ellers, did you hear back from your friend? I wonder if they will start letting atl listed students know after the October 29th deadline for the ADN Acceptance Conformation form. That would be great, then maybe a few more after the November 15th deadline. Or do they let us know all at one time? I guess questions to ask at the orientation! So, are we meeting then at the library before or after the orientaion session?

We all are alt listed... kinda funny, but not really...lol. I would love to meet everyone too. Yes, ill be at orientation. We should meet before it starts somewhere on campus

Coug, your gpa is a 4.0 right? Your qualifications are great.. im shocked! I wish we knew how they choose the alt list students. Maybe by last name?

I dont know why, my only thought is my ati score and lack of experience. I have my CNA, but its all not good enough. I guess ill get all my health clearances done and keep my fingers crossed. I wonder when they let people know about alt list selection.

Wow! You go mama! You have a lot on your shoulders. Its inspiring to hear other moms taking on nursing school with so much on their plate! Daycare and school for kids is always so expensive. My mother in law runs a daycare, she is amazing, her rate is a couple hundred dollars less than what you are playing now. I wouldnt trust my children with anyone else. If you are interested, lmk. I know it hard moving kids from one place to another, but it might help. And shes right by KCC. I think you do have to re apply with your changed major, but im not sure. Something to look into for sure! Do you know when Queens west will open?
