Updated:   Published

Hello everyone! I didn't see this topic on the forum, so I'll create this for anyone else who is planning to apply to Kaiser's New Residency Program. Good luck!!

Fingers crossed, today is the day squad ?

I hope so! ??

Just wondering. Did anyone hear anything about specialty placements? Some people said their interviewers said not to even think about specialty because it's not likely going to be offered, I haven't seen anything about them, but it seems like maybe others have heard something else?

I haven't heard anything. I know when I put down my preferences for shifts and units it wasn't an option to select it. I hope they start offering them in their new grad program, lots of programs do now

Thanks ?

Every time I see an email that is not is the offer letter I am disappointed. The email I got last week said to disregard my unit, schedule and shift that I would receive in the official offer letter this week, and that I would get my schedule two weeks prior to starting.

I talked to someone and they said that there are no specialty placements being offered to any of the nurse residents because all spots were taken by Kaiser employees first.

I feel like it's a bit of a bait and switch.

Of course they were! I feel the same way. Bummer. Thanks for the follow up.

This whole waiting thing........really ain't it ?

They better have a good reason for leaving us on the edge of our seats like this haha

You mean you received a survey to prioritize the shifts you wanted and then they sent you that follow up email?? May I ask what location you got accepted for?

I sent an email to inquire how we were notified about our offers and they said no later than 3/24, otherwise they'd let us know they were extending it (just fyi).

Bummer to hear no specialty placements are being offered. ?

So I got a call from TA on the 16th to offer me a spot in Oakland. Then she sent me the generic acceptance email that was sent out on the 10th and then I got the "thank you for filling out the survey" email, even though, I never filled out a survey. I assume this is because I was a late acceptance and my overall score.

Yeah this is rough ?

I hope we get the offers soon because it's still unofficial and I want to be excited already! I'm starting to get a bit nervous considering some of us turned down other offers for this
