I just let my exam. i am soooo nervous. I have no clue how I did. My computer shut off at 75 questions....I think. the last time i looked at the screen I was at 69 and then it shut off a few minutes after. The questions where hard... a few I did not know, and most that I could narrow down to two...then it was guessing from there. Lots of priority....lots..not just ABC's, although some were. I had 3 medication administration fill in the blanks, four or five select all that apply and no ordering of priority. Is that bad? I dont even remember the last question, but it was priority, and I though I was picking a pretty good choice. I just dont know how I did. Someone help!!! Make me feel better. Is it common to have to priority order like putting in number order...i had none, but lots of select all....HELP!!!!!!!!I just want to be an RN

I know exactly how you feel. I took my NCLEX last Thursday (6/23) and it didn't cut off until 120. I just knew that I had failed. I spent two very stressful days until I found out that I had passed on Saturday! I had lots of priority questions, 4 or 5 select all that apply, 1 drug calculation fill in the blank, and various others about GI diseases mostly. I felt that the test was so hard! I am sure that you passed. Try to find something that will take your mind off of it until you find out. I will pray for positive results. The way that you are feeling is totally normal. I haven't talked to a single person that has felt confident after taking the test.

i take my test tomorrow and feel like throwing up! Were the questions like what you thought they would be? Like Kaplan? Like Saunders?
At this point i just want it to be OVER!
(congratulations of getting through it!)
I used saunders to review, and one of my review classes also did. I think Saunders is the best, and questions are most similiar to it. The questions were hard, but not impossible. Everything was pretty familiar and like I said, I could narrow down to two almost always. Here is my list of topics from what I can remember:
-priorty..some ABC's
-Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome
-Preterm labor and meds
-Renal failure---LOTS!
-Diet for renal failure
-Tracheostomy...I'm not sure if your supposed to put something over the stoma when showering or swimming..I put wear a medic alert bracelet for CPR through the stoma..
-theraputic communication-depression
-What to do if a client went into preterm labor and the baby died...i said offer them to hold the baby?
-Know normal labs....like ca, mg, na, ect
-know normal CBC's
-Catopril..or some cardic med of the similiar
-pre teaching for stress test.the question was something like the client misunderstanding I said he should bring nitro
-client teaching foor loop diuretic----K+
-Signs, and symptoms of parkinsons disease
-microdrip med calculcations---know that 60 microdrips are in 1 ml or drop
-chemotherapy and radiation, the question was something about a person that is recieving radiation and putting them in a room with a person with brest cancer that is recieivng chemo..i said that is ok and that the person with external radiation does not need their own room..I think i was wrong though...but it didnt say the type of external radiation..i should have put their own room!!! Crap!
-Scarlet fever....i didnt even study it!
-Herpes Simplex 2
-AIDS and precaucautions...lots of questions about precautions...know when to wear a mask...glown...gloves ect and with what diseases/viruses
-Reflexs in the newborn...know when they go away..(At what age)
Thats all i can remember know..I'll post if i remember more...Just remember that anxiety is the worst when you get there...so just calm down..i felt that I honestly knew most of the material..i was just soooo nervous!
UGH...and waiting is the worst part. ! :rotfl:

I too just took my NCLEX today and I am wigging out! My computer shut off at 75 and I also had ALOT of priority type questions. Also:
blood administration
HIV teaching..daily temp or don't clean the fish tank??
Pharm-what meds to crush in a PEG tube
Maternity-pitocin vs fetal HR
Infection control do's & dont's
Nurs'g diagnoses reflecting labs
No much patho based questions
Does anyone know the "average" pass/fail rate of 75 questions? I agree that the hardest part is now waiting!!

I just read somewhere on here that the average pass rate when you have 75 questions is like 90%...hopefully its true!!
Thanks so much for the heads up! I am so ready for the test to be over. I don't take it until 3:45 in the afternoon tomorrow!

I'm with you! I have to wait until Friday morning to take it! I've already done 4000 questions and I'm sooooo sick of waiting to take it! And I'm also sick of non-nursing friends/family telling me to "just sit by the pool and relax" until I take it. I'm sure if they were taking it they would be freaking out now too! I guess I should try to relax, but honestly do not know how to.

I TOOK MY BOARDS TODAY TOO! I was so upset when it only took an HOUR! I had 75 questions and when it was all over, I just sat there and thought, wait a minute, did I just blow that off? I'm OSOOOOOO nervous, because if I don't pass, then I can't stay in the ICU to work!
We'll keep our fingers crossed for you!!! Good luck! :)

Your test sounds VERY similar to mine & others who have posted. Read a post that titled: Just finished taking NCLEX...
I did not have any of those priority order that you mentioned. I have not talked to anyone who has had any of those, although there was one in my Kaplan NCLEX-RN review book. That's the only place I have ever seen one. Thus far, those who posted with similar tests like mine (& yours) also mentioned that they had 75 questions & passed. I passed also. Good luck.

I had that EXACT tracheostomy question (but if I remembered the choices, I could remember what I put). I also had the EXACT same one for the guy who is to have a stress test. I also put (as for misunderstanding) that he said he forgot to bring his nitro. MAN! That's weird that we had TWO of the exact same questions! I also had renal & one for diet of pt with renal failure. You're right! Waiting is the worst, I know. GOOD LUCK!
