Just took my NCLEX! Anxiety through the roof!

Published

Hello RN's and future RNs!

I took my NCLEX RN today and let me just say I don't think i did well at all. This whole experience was so traumatic and i acutally cant remember half the stuff i was tested on. Anyways...

The computer shut off at around 118 questions. I was so devastated being that i felt like i completely missed more than half of the previous questions. I was hoping to get more questions!! lol. For those that have taken Kaplan probably noticed that the test was very similar in format in terms of the color of the interface and i swear even the fonts were the same!! The questions were just as difficult, probably at a higher level.

I got a lot of priority questions and a mix of alternate style questions (pictures, drag and drops, exhibit, and the ever so favored SATA) I found it strange that i didnt get too many. I wanna say about 10? I wasnt keeping count being that i was trying to remain calm and focused. I also didnt get too many medications, and no delegation questions.

I've read a lot of these forums and im well aware that everyones exam is randomized and theres no way in telling if you passed/failed. I have this horrinle gut feeling that just wont go away!! I am sure of one thing this was one tricky exam!!

If anyone can offer some consolation I'd really much appreciate it since these two days of waiting are going to be a draggggg.

PaBubb, you are not alone. I do not know a single nurse that walked out of there thinking that they passed. I was so sure I failed I went home and started making up a new study schedule-and that was WITH the old PVT trick giving me the old good popup!!

Some BONs are very slow-possibly weeks, while others are extremely fast, mere hours. I suggest you keep checking your BON online to see if a license shows up (but don't freak out if it isn't there).

Best of luck!! Let us know when you pass!

I agree with scaredsilly. You are not alone, most everyone feels like they did not pass. Just try to keep busy for these next two days. Remember all of those things that you were wishing you could have been doing while you were forced to study for boards? Go out and do them! It will make the time go by faster. There is no point in sitting around thinking about your questions as you cannot change what is already done.

Best wishes and keep us updated.

Thank you both so much!!! I am so happy there are people who are so supportive of each other through this mini crisis lol. I will be sure to post an update :)

lol, i fee, like we took the same exam. Mine stopped at aound 110 and i feel like i got the last question wrong. I didnt get too mnay SATA which I was surprise about...i also got only ONE delegation question..i wish i got alot more. Im so nervous and have to wait till tomorrow to get my quick result! please pray for me!!!

I also just took my NCLEX. Which state are you from? My license showed up after around 18 hours after my exam. I didn't need to pay for the quick results :)

I totally understand how you feel. I can't even remember 10 of the questions I got. As hard as it is, keep yourself busy. Watch a movie. Get a massage. Spend time with your friends. And like they said, check every now and then with the website of your BON. You might just see your license the next time that you do :)

Let us know! Good luck :)
