I recently interviewed for a NICU position in my hospital. :heartbeat I got the call yesterday and was offered the position. This has been my dream and I can't believe it.
I will still do correctional health per diem but no more med-surg for me (yay)! I am so grateful, excited and it has brought some 'spark' back into my dull life.

Go for it! It's worth a try. I was very nervous myself as they are quite 'picky' at my hosp for the NICU. I prayed and was myself during the interview.

Not yet on the job search, lol, all of the hospitals that I want to work at require you to have your license active before you can apply with them. Phooey! It's ok though, we have survived this part, the wait can be a little longer.

2 weeks after I applied. I put in for a transfer since I was working med-surg at the same hospital (and only hospital in a 250+ mile radius-I must add).
*UPDATE*-I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it :heartbeat
Even better is that I am orienting on the same shift I will be working (nights).
Glad to hear that you love it! Orienting on the shift you will be working makes things so much easier, you already kinda know everyone once you go on your own. I miss nights...
