Just had to share with someone...

I recently interviewed for a NICU position in my hospital. :heartbeat I got the call yesterday and was offered the position. This has been my dream and I can't believe it. :D

I will still do correctional health per diem but no more med-surg for me (yay)! I am so grateful, excited and it has brought some 'spark' back into my dull life.

Wish me luck :nurse:

P.S. I remember when I joined this site as a pre-nursing student............where the heck does time go??

Specializes in NICU, Mother-Baby, Peds.
*UPDATE*-I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it :heartbeat

:D

Even better is that I am orienting on the same shift I will be working (nights).

Yea!!! :heartbeat

Glad to hear that you love it! Orienting on the shift you will be working makes things so much easier, you already kinda know everyone once you go on your own. I miss nights...
That's good to know. I'm orienting nights and will work nights.

My first shift is TONIGHT (had 2 days of hospital orientation). I am so nervous!!!

How fun! Much luck to you. I should be sleeping but am wide awake still.........lol

I got the job on NICU I was wanting, don't start until the 15th though.

I'm glad you love it and get to orient on the shift you'll be working. I think I'll be orienting on days first, then my shift (2nd).

Yeah to all of us who didn't give up getting into NICU.

2 weeks after I applied. I put in for a transfer since I was working med-surg at the same hospital (and only hospital in a 250+ mile radius-I must add).

Much luck to you too!!!! :)

How are things going for you?

Goodness, what great news!! :yeah:

Congratulations. I am thrilled for you :heartbeat

All is well with me, lots of learning of course but loving every minute of it. The 15th is around the corner. Keep me updated :nurse:

Hi Jessy RN,

Congratulations! I know how excited you must feel. I graduated from nursing school a few months ago. I've been a volunteer in the NICU for almost 3 years and I love it. I hope to one day work in the NICU as well. I wish you all the best!:yeah::heartbeat
