Woo hoo. Just sent my app into Excelsior and excited and ready to get started.

Good luck to everyone else starting this year!

Quick question: I've read about the Saunders NCLEX-RN book being helpful along with the regular text and exam outlines. Buy?

~Thanks~

Good luck with your program. The Saunders Comprehensive Review is a good resource.

you will need it later to review for the NCLEX so it would be a good buy anyway! I wouldnt' exclusively use it to study, make sure you get the textbooks as well...just get some previous editions of the textbooks and it will be cheaper1

Specializes in LTC.

GOOD LUCK! :)

I am also starting the LPN to RN program this year, hope to be done by fall with my exams & ready for CPNE (little nervous just typing it- i have no peds experience at this time :( )

On the Saunders, great book but if you do not like your answers & rationales with the question go with Prentice Hall's Review & Rationales NCLEX-RN Comprehensive Guide. I spent a llloooonnnggg time in Barnes & Noble comparing them both before deciding they are both good books. But, I want to answer my question and then check the answer elsewhere. It is too tempting to peek at the answer for me, and I am not learning anything that way.

Congrats Jalyda!

So was it a tough test?

My favorite source for study is going to barnes and nobles or borders, having a cup of coffee and using their NCLEX books for free.

Thanks Kel, it was pretty cut and dry. I have a feeling, the rest are going to be alot harder!!!

Specializes in med/surg, telemetery, gerentology.

Im on my last nursing exam (LS3), I found LS2 to be the hardest and I mean HARD!!!! Not to scare you just giving you a heads up. Ive had As and Bs on my tests but was glad to have a C on LS2. Good Luck
