I know many of you have heard all this before, but would like some honest opinions! computer stopped at 75 questions and the majority of them were prioritising the most needy of patients or major incidents with the best patient to discharge to create empty beds.

How do you think I have done? I have mixed views, either have done absolutely terrible or passed can you tell by the type of questions I have had to answer. All comments much appreciated

Number of questions means absolutely nothing. Priority questions are a good thing...........

Specializes in OB, ortho/neuro, home care, office.

I passed with 83 questions. The questions seemed easy to me. Many were priority. Smilingblueeyes is right, number of questions doesn't matter.

I completed the exam 49 hours ago and am still on edge. I could have written your post. Patients were coming from ED, OR, home, with a need to decide who to assess etc. I am told that is a good sign that so many of my questions were like that. However when the blue screen of death came on the computer I was not ready for it. I got a job offer today and my diploma came an hour ago--But I really want to know if I passed.

If you got a lot of priority questions that is a good sign. I would venture to say you passed. My theory is if you studied hard and I'm talking about a good month of solid studying doing at least 3500+ questions and got as many quesitons as you did, you passed!!!!!!

I got tons of priority it seemed like I would get 4 or 5 priority and then 2 easy questions and then back to priority again.

Sit back and relax, I'm sure you passed if you studied!!!!

I've noticed others say this. Why are priority questions a good sign? I'm taking the boards on the 12th and I'm started to get scared. :uhoh3:

Priority questions are judgment rather than knowledge--The difference between picking out the side effect of a drug and choosing which of several patients must be assessed first. The latter makes you guess from the symptoms what is wrong with them and then decide if it life threating or at least the most time sensitive issue. Patient with 320 glucose out ranks person who needs to be ambulated etc.

That makes sense. Thanks for replying.
