Just passed the NET now what?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just passed the NET last week. I am considering CNA or phlebotomist while I am waiting to get into to nursing school. Will I get enough experience being a phlebotomist or should I just do CNA? I still have to take one prereq. before I can apply.

Did you take the NET for a specific school or took it just in general?

Specializes in none.

I am taking phlebotomy this semester along with A & P 2. I wanted to take this because I am a little scared of needles and I think this might help. Plus after the first semester of nursing school I can become a CNA, so this will just give me another option! Good luck!

I tested for Mesa community college or any of the community colleges in the Maricopa schools.

travisandjamie01 are you saying that once you complete the first semester you have taken everything to become a cna? or will you take courses in addition?

Would someone please tell me if the NET test was hard and what material I should study or what books to buy that will help me pass.

The math portion didn't seem too hard for me. The math was pretty much just like the questions on the testpreview.com website. The only problem is that I ran out of time and wasn't able to answer a couple of the questions I had skipped. So my advice is if you don't know the answer guess and then write down the number on your scratch paper and go back. The reading portion was a little bit harder for me as I felt like 2 of the 4 answers could have possibly been correct. I studied for about 3 weeks off and on before I took the test. Good luck!

jjingles: At my comm college in Lake Havasu AZ (Mohave Community College) Once you have taken the first semester of the Nursing program you can be a CNA. There are no additional classes that you need to take. Keep in mind I dont know how your college does it...but maybe you could ask because the way I look at it is if I can do it after the first semester why take it seperately. The phlebotomy experience will be helpful as well so that is what my sights are on right now. Good Luck!

Congrats on passing the test!! I think you should do the CNA or just study several books for your pre-req's so you can make all A's. Either or you will gain hospital setting experience.

Good luck!!!

Hi Travisandjamie01. I just got my rejection letter from Mohave for Spring 2010. We had about the same GPA and Net, did you get in?

No, I just got my rejection letter as well. Very disappointing. I guess I just keep chugging along and try again next time. Do you have any pre or co req classes left to take? Did you apply to the Lake Havasu campus? :crying2:

I applied 1st to Kingman, 2nd to Lake Havasu. If you want to study for the new HESI test and plan Fall approach let me know [email protected]. Thanks.
