  1. Yes it was very difficult. I finally got the email for the recruiter at the hospital and just kept on bugging him until I got an interview. It helped to have some experience for sure. Good luck!
  2. It took me about 2 months to find a job. I searched on Craigslist and finally found a job at a rehab. facility where I worked for 6 months and then got hired on at the hospital.
  3. Your online number should be good enough. I don't have a card and I've worked as a CNA at 2 different places. I was told you can order a card but it costs $. Good luck!
  4. I have a time stamp of 6/11/2010. I also work at SHC and found out last month that I was number 54 on the wait list for SCC. You definitely get into SCC sooner if you work at SHC and yes they do pay for schooling up front after you have worked for 90 days. They do not require a contract.
  5. That's me too! I have 3 kiddos also. Well I guess I will give it a shot next semester. :) Sounds like a light load compared to what you've all done!
  6. I am applying for the CNA program next semester. I also need to take A&P before I can apply for nursing school. Do you think this is doable? Is it too much to do in one semester? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
  7. Yikes I completely understand about the reading. I was seriously freaking out thinking that I didn't pass the reading portion. What do you need to pass? I was told 60 was passing.
  8. The math portion didn't seem too hard for me. The math was pretty much just like the questions on the testpreview.com website. The only problem is that I ran out of time and wasn't able to answer a couple of the questions I had skipped. So my advice is if you don't know the answer guess and then write down the number on your scratch paper and go back. The reading portion was a little bit harder for me as I felt like 2 of the 4 answers could have possibly been correct. I studied for about 3 weeks off and on before I took the test. Good luck!
  9. travisandjamie01 are you saying that once you complete the first semester you have taken everything to become a cna? or will you take courses in addition?
  10. I tested for Mesa community college or any of the community colleges in the Maricopa schools.
  11. I just passed the NET last week. I am considering CNA or phlebotomist while I am waiting to get into to nursing school. Will I get enough experience being a phlebotomist or should I just do CNA? I still have to take one prereq. before I can apply.
  12. ya i'm wondering if there is another site to help study for the net. this link: http://www.midland.edu/~hsd/pdf/8-net_test.pdf does not work. thanks!
