JUST GOT HOME ALL 265 questions OMG!!!

Published

Ok I just walked in the door and signed on to my favorite website ALLNURSES, after I cried all the way home while talking to my husband on the phone. My exam was at 8am when I got there another girl from my graduating class was also signing in. WELL, her test shut off at 75 SO when I hit NEXT after my 75th question I was waiting.....I went all the way to 265, with my anxiety through the roof, I took 2 breaks. I had a TON of med questions that I had NO CLUE, 15 or so SATA, fill in the blank med calculations...diseases that I have NEVER heard of....NOW i know some people that get 265 DO PASS what is the PERCENTAGE OF THOSE 265er's....I am riddled with anxiety, fear, embarassment, hopelessness......I just keep praying to god that I passed. Everyone is calling my phone and texting me asking me how it went....I am turning it off and am going to keep checking my responses from this post. Thank you all for your support!!! Time is ticking until I can check my QUICKRESULTS!!!!:crying2::banghead:

Specializes in Stroke/Neuro.

that is exactly how I felt, I kept thinking, did I study enough? What should I study next, I was kind of all over the place. I think the hardest part is where to focus your studying because this exam is a little bit of everything. Like I said before there is a ton of infection control, who would the RN see first???, as far as the med questions if I would have studied and remembered the endings of the meds a little more I think that would have helped me out big time. Get that last bit of studying in and be sure to let me know how the big day went. Be confident in yourself that you CAN kick this exams butt!!!! Picture the initials RN after your name, I know I am hoping to god I can!!!!!!

I've been keeping my fingers crossed for you!! It sounds like you did all the right things and you're right about studying for everything. There is a little of everything in this test and you have no idea what it's going to throw you. Bless your heart... the wait must be a killer!!

I take mine the 26th this month. Stress is my new friend. :D

Good luck. I hope everything works out!!

Goodluck to you...just keep on prayin..

Okay, Surely you've heard. Even if it's bad news we would like to encourage you to be strong and have faith that it will turn out okay!

I'm a foreign nursing grad from the Philippines. I took the local board 2 months after I graduated & luckily I passed. I had to wait 2months for the result, but it was well worth it. I'm a US citizen so I took the NCLEX in NC on Aug7. I'm anxiously waiting on the results..the more I think about it, the more I wanna break down. The exam wasn't "hard", but some of it especially the pharma stuff i have never heard of so I relied mostly on prayers & educated guesses. I guess I have a 47% of passing then...:(

I need some encouragement. I just took my NCLEX exam today and finished at 265 questions. I'm in tears and I just now found this website. I feel like I completely bombed the test. Somewhere in the middle of taking the test, I felt like I was just guessing. There were so many medications I've never even seen before.. I'm also going through my orientation at a hospital and now I'm unsure about my employment status. I'm praying to God to grant me peace but I'm struggling to keep calm..:crying2::uhoh3::banghead:

Don't throw in the towel so soon. It's waaaaaaaaaaay too early for that. If you remember the Kaplan book says to plan on answering 265 questions. It seems the NCLEX is a totally random thing. Some get 75 questions, 265 and then everything in between. It's just not something you can predict.

Try to be patient. I took the "old" boards 30 yrs ago. They were given over 2 days and we waited 7-8 weeks to get our results. Our exam was in 5 parts, med, surg, peds, obgyn and psych . It came by snail mail.

In this age of quick results, it makes for impatient people. Don't take offense, just an observation of mine.

Oh and BTW, my license lapsed awhile ago and I will be taking the test in September.

My heart goes out to you. But it will be okay. And have a drink for me on Sept 25.

Did you get your results yet? I had 265 questions and passed. I hope you did too!

Miracle08 I feel your pain. By the time I got to question #190 I was in another world. I WAS guessing, I HAD NO CLUE what these questions were even asking me. I too had meds I NEVER heard of, DISEASES I never heard of - it was INSANE. BUT until you get your results, don't count yourself out of the game, I know it's easier said, than done!!! I will be routing for you!!
