So cold out - and the bone-chilling blustery weather just won't quit! I'm ready for some temperate spring days and at least a few daffodils poking their heads out of the drab sod. It's nice to think about sunshine and carefree summer days during this unbearably long winter by reminiscing about our favorite vacation aeas in the state. :yeah:My favorite is Nags Head:

I'm not a beach or mountain kind of girl. But I love the "city" atomosphere of Charlotte, plus they have all the sports I love football, basketball even hockey! I can stay "uptown" and have a ball!

I love the Outer Banks. I haven't been in years, but that wins my vote for favorite.

Emerald Isle is my favorite beach....

Mortimer is my favorite campground in the mountains...if you can find it near Edgemont, NC.

I have never been to any beach in NC. I always hear about them, but when friends want to go to the beach they head to SC. Good to see we have great options right in this state.

Biltmore Estate in Asheville. When we lived in the western part of the state we had a yearly pass out there. It was an hour away, and I loved to take day trips down there. My daughter loved the barnyard, and I loved the winery (haha) and the grounds. I loved finding photo areas and finding new angles to take pictures of the house. I'd love to stay in the inn there, but it is so expensive!

When my hubby was stationed in NC, we loved to visit Atlantic Beach! It was never too crowded and not "tourist-y" at all. :) I miss visiting NC!

my favorite also is Nags Head, but I will suffer thru either Wrightsville, Carolina, or Kure Beaches as I live smack dab between all 3. hehehhehe.
