Just for fun - Your favorite vacation spot in NC!

So cold out - and the bone-chilling blustery weather just won't quit! I'm ready for some temperate spring days and at least a few daffodils poking their heads out of the drab sod. It's nice to think about sunshine and carefree summer days during this unbearably long winter by reminiscing about our favorite vacation aeas in the state. :yeah:My favorite is Nags Head:

Has been Wrightsville Beach for some time.....just recently went to N Topsail Island...there may be a tie:)

I know this is an old thread, but my favorite place in the ENTIRE WORLD is the Outer Banks. We normally stay in Corolla, this year we stayed in Duck, and I'd have to say, Corolla wins. Cant WAIT to go back next year! Only 10 more months!

My dad lives in Salvo, just below Avon in the OBX. My husband and I are avid deep sea fish-people (fishermen? fisherwomen? Hmmm....) and we go to Topsail twice a year for a week to fish. It is uncrowded and you can have an island all to yourself when you go off season. My dog (she is 3) loves the boat more than anything, and has since learned to walk the gunwale! Asheville is also gorgeous. I lived there for a year when I was travel nursing.

My grandparents have a cabin at Oak Island and I have been going there since I was a few months old. I used to call it "my beach" because everyone I knew growing up had never heard of it and now everyone around here knows where Oak Island is. BTW, I live 5 hours away and miss it alot. Haven't been in a few years. :crying2:
