So cold out - and the bone-chilling blustery weather just won't quit! I'm ready for some temperate spring days and at least a few daffodils poking their heads out of the drab sod. It's nice to think about sunshine and carefree summer days during this unbearably long winter by reminiscing about our favorite vacation aeas in the state. :yeah:My favorite is Nags Head:
My dad lives in Salvo, just below Avon in the OBX. My husband and I are avid deep sea fish-people (fishermen? fisherwomen? Hmmm....) and we go to Topsail twice a year for a week to fish. It is uncrowded and you can have an island all to yourself when you go off season. My dog (she is 3) loves the boat more than anything, and has since learned to walk the gunwale! Asheville is also gorgeous. I lived there for a year when I was travel nursing.
My grandparents have a cabin at Oak Island and I have been going there since I was a few months old. I used to call it "my beach" because everyone I knew growing up had never heard of it and now everyone around here knows where Oak Island is. BTW, I live 5 hours away and miss it alot. Haven't been in a few years.
