June 2010 CRNE Results

World Canada CRNE

Published

I don't want to start the posts too early, but I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it is actually supposed to take to get results this year. I know that some people I worked with last summer got theirs in early-mid July. I checked out the CNO website and the CNA website (and a few others along the way) one says 8-12 weeks and the other says 4-6. I'm already driving myself crazy...if I have to wait another 8+ weeks I'll end up really going off the deep end :uhoh3:

Hey all! I just got my CRNE result in the mail - I'm in Calgary - and I passed! I'm so, so exciied! Holy smokes, slicing open that with a mail opener made my heart rate jump up, haha. This was my first time writing it and all that studying totally paid off!

For those writing in the future, here's what I did. I made a list of things I had to study a few months before the CRNE. For example, I spent 11 days on community, 15 days on maternity, 14 days on pediatrics, etc. Just reviewing my university notes and everything. The last three weeks or so, I devoted that time to studying adult health because medical/surgical health is huge.

I bought all the CRNE textbooks on Amazon.com (they were worth a lot of $$$ so I don't know if it was a good idea or not, haha). After those 3 weeks of studying adult health, I had about 10 days or so where I would go over all the CRNE textbooks. The practice exams, the review they had, etc. I did the practice exam in the CRNE prep guide 5th edition two days before the CRNE to see how I would do. The day before the exam, I don't really remember what I did, haha. (If anyone has any questions about which CRNE textbooks are worth it, just ask! The CRNE prep guide 5th edition is a MUST.)

For the CRNE exam, I tried my best to finish at least 60 questions an hour so I would have time to review my answers. I managed my time well and I "finished" the exam with ~55 minutes to spare. I spent that time reviewing my answers and going back to the answers I had left blank.

I know a lot of people don't prepare for the CRNE like I did, but it worked and hey, I'm super happy and it's time to celebrate! Yay! :jester:

I'm so happy for you, Jess1ca!!!! :ancong!: Now go out, have fun & enjoy the rest of the Stampede festivities!!!

Don't hold your breath... Just spoke with the CNO and the results have not even been mailed out yet! This is horrible!... NFLD knew almost 2 weeks ago! We all wrote at the same time it seems unfair that their anxiety is shorter (much shorter) then Ontario residents. Why can't the results be distributed electronically? I am going to be sick with worry until next week!

 OMG!!! This is ridiculous!!!

OMG, no!!!!!!!!!! I thought I'd get it by next week at least...............Wonder want happend to our results.......

Apparently there is someone who went to Ryerson that received their result today & they wrote in Toronto. Waiting to confirm if it's a pass or fail. lol. If this is true then the rest of us in Ontario should be receiving mail soon!

Also, the size of the envelope isn't necessarily a give away as to what the result is. Some result letters have permanent license info and paperwork in them as well making them thicker.

Any updates on this person? It's strange that the CNO keeps saying that they have not yet sent the results but someone might have received theirs! Maybe they already sent the results to the unsuccessful people??? Ugh! All this uncertainty is driving me nuts!

I went to Ryerson, none of my friends got it

Hi everyone,

I wrote in Ontario and am still anxiously awaiting my results. I am not sure if this is in the thread (I apologize if this has already been discussed) but does anyone know what exactly happens with my temp license if I were to fail the CRNE? Would it get revoked immediately? What about the new grad initiative position? Haven't heard yet, but just trying to figure out what would happen if my result isn't good.

Thanks for your help. Congrats to everyone who has already received their results and passed!

That totally depends on the province. BC doesn't revoke temporary registrations, but Alberta does. It would appear, from CNO's fact sheet (http://www.cno.org/docs/reg/45029_fsTempreg.pdf), that once you've failed the CRNE your registration will be revoked. And once your temporary registration is revoked, you can't work. So cross your fingers that your letter will have a great big "P" in it.

I am hoping that the results will be in my mailbox tomorrow as I will be leaving and I don't want to ruin my holidays. CNO should have at least posted a blurb on their website to alleviate some of our anxieties. There is so much speculation going on right now.

Good Luck to all of us in Ontario after all this time we all earned a PASS!!!

The mail came today and nothing......was hoping it would come by the end of the week but I guess not, too much waiting is making me nervous.....I guess the wait continues in ontario............I went to ryerson as well and have not heard anything and neither has my friend.....:crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2:

I actually spoke with a CNO rep over the phone and told me the reults will be mailed in the next few days. He couldn't tell whether it would be next week. The CNO is too ineffecient to get the job done. I don't understand why the results were already out to the examinees in some of the provinces two weeks ago while the Ontario results were not even mailed yet.........I need to get this out my chest. The CNO has made it clear that the examinees of the June 2, 2010 CRNE will be notified of the results by mail within 4-6 weeks. Does anyone there in the CNO have "palabra de honor" to keep their word and send those results tomorrow at the least. This is not the best example of "honesty and fidelity" that we so dearly preach in nursing school...duh
