Hello everyone,
I'm planning to take my test in July and I am doing Suzanne first plan. Is anyone out there thinking taking their test in July please come and help and share ideas..
Thanks
I have studied so long this weekend that I think I singed my hair!! I test in Denver on Thursday at 8am. I am really beginning to get nervous. I took my NCLEX PN last summer and passed with 85 questions. I thought the experience would help me this time but I am not sure it has. I just pray that by this time next week my long journey will be over and I can clock in at my job as a new RN!! Good luck to everyone testing this week. Hopefully it will be a week of celebrations!!:heartbeat
I am testing Thursday--EEK! I am working today, tomorrow, and the next day--12 hour shifts!!!! I hope I'm not too tired to do some practice questions each night. I do not feel ready to take this, but I don't think I ever would feel ready. Hopefully by Saturday morning I will see "PASS" by name.
good luck for all of you who are testing this coming week: nicole, cnarural, love-d-or, piel_canela26, adnololo8 and many others,...best wishes and keep us posted!
yes, may your mind be clear, focused and ready to conquer the nclex! you will do it. you have prepared for this day and you will be successful!:heartbeat
congrats all that passed!
now i have a question: what triggers sickle cell crisis: what i have come up with so far is increased blood viscosity (decreased fluid intake or fever), hypoxia, and low o2 tension ( high altitudes, poorly pressurized airplanes, hypoventalization, vasconstricition when cold, and stress). i understand the stasis of blood with clumping of cells in the mirco-circulation, ischemia, and infaraction (tissue), and pooling blood in the spleen, and infection and depletion of the folic acid. am i missing anything or what is the most important to know.
congrats all that passed!

i guess you got everything... the only thing i would add is treatment: you want to hydrate the pt (iv fluids,...) i think that it is the priority number one; of course since the pt is in pain you may have to give some analgesics and finally you may give also some oxygen. as you know on nclex pain is a psychosocial issue (according to kaplan), so if you have to chose b/t pain and fluids; using maslow you would chose an answer that relates to physioological needs. reason why iv fluids is a priority during the sickle cell crisis!
good luck and best wishes!
Thanks to everyone expressing luck to us that are about to take our exam. Knowing there are so many people out there sharing our experiences is a true help!! My family has a difficult time understanding....they say, oh you know you will pass. I wish I felt the same way:sofahider.. I do know that I have put the time in with my studies and I need to trust in the fact that I know my stuff...WE CAN DO THIS!!! By this time next week I hope we can all call ourselves RN! :caduceus::caduceus::loveya:
Think of me at 8am on the 10th!!!
