JU summer 2011 hopefuls

Hi,

I'm new at this posting thing but it seems really helpful to talk to other people going through the same process of finding good schools and applying for the highly competitive programs. I figured i would try and start a new thread for anyone who is applying for the program that start at JU in May of 2011! :) Best of luck to everyone

Flora sf, I think someone mentioned earlier about Riverside/Avondale and I must say it's beautiful! My husband and I have lived in the area for three years, and love it! There are resteraunts, bars, parks, shops in walking or bike riding distance. It was voted one of the top 10 neighborhoods in the US. With the economy being so bad you can get an extremely nice place over here for a good price. My husband drives to JU everyday and it usually takes him about 20 minutes. Hope you find a good place!

I was going to live with my parents to try and save money but I would love to move back out and get a place of my own...I'm not sure if I have time to find a place right now but was thinking more along the lines of June or right after the program gets started...

GirlyGator, do you have to find a place before the program starts?

Anyone else that applied for transfer program get accepted yet? I believe I have only talked to one or two who has been or is waiting for acceptence.

(Btw, I must say I feel like the baby of the group..hehe :lol2:)

Flora sf, I have a good friend that moved from Cali not to long ago! He misses it dearly but loves it here! I hope you will to :) If you look at Indigo at all let me know what you think! I live in Indigo and love it! Good luck with wherever you go!

Haha, well I am only 20 and it seems like most are atleast 4 or so years older than that! I have always been the youngest in my class though. I think it is great that they take such a wide age range though because we can all learn from eachother!

That's too funny that you live there well stop by anytime and to say hi :)

Unfortunately I do not think I have made it into the program I called Chris and left messages and emails to email me the letter since something is wrong with the address they had send it to but I have never received anything. I even asked him to tell me over the phone but he told me they will just email an electronic letter to me. I assumed right there that he meant I did not get in. I am just a bit upset that they are not willing to provide me with the information I told him to let me know since I have to look at my future career plans. But good luck everyone!!

oh my gosh, i'm so sorry...I cannot imagine the frustration you are going through!! I hope for the sake of your sanity he sends you an email today!!! Along with the rest of us...(he said he was going to send one out this week??) :confused:

I am so sorry that they are making you go through that! He should have told you over the phone especially since everyone has to respond to their acceptance letter by April 8th or what not. Well, don't lose hope!

Is anyone interested in living together? I think it would be really helpful/convenient to live with someone in the same program!

Hey I'm still deciding on JU, but if I do go there I am interested in finding a roommate... so much cheaper! Obviously I have very little time left to make my decision, but I'll keep you posted!
