Greetings Everyone!
I know this is early to make a thread for the Fall 2011 Hopkins Applicants! But still, it is better to start getting ready than waiting at the last minute! I highly suggest everyone start getting your letters of recommendations, and just hide it until you are ready to apply. I will be applying and submitting my application around September 2010 as an early decision applicant for Fall 2011.
I have to finish up Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Developmental Psychology, and one more chemistry class this coming Summer 2010. During the Fall of 2010 and Spring 2011, I will be finishing up just general requirements like history, Microbiology, English Composition, Statistics, some foreign languages, and humanities (elective classes).
I will be applying for the BSN Traditional Program considering I do not have a degree, thus, I am not qualified to apply for the accelerated program. I'm really excited about this.
I will only be applying to UPenn and Johns Hopkins University for my BSN traditional program. If I do not get accepted, I will be attending my current university's school of nursing. I am already in the university's nursing program, but I don't start clinical preceptorship until 2 years from now.
I will graduate May 2013 regardless where I go. Either JHU or UPenn or stay at my current university.
If I will be accepted at either JHU or UPenn, then definitely I will be attending those schools! I love nursing research, and I want to learn more about research and providing quality care to our patients.
We will see how it will go. I have six months until I submit my application to both schools. Remember time is running fast.
Hope everyone are doing well on their pre-requisites! Good luck to all!
Feel free to post around so we can help each other for Fall 2011! I've read the thread for the JHU Fall 2010. I've noticed everyone in that thread got accepted, and some waitlisted! Its a good sign!
Have a wonderful day!

I think it is super weird that admissions is giving people different answers. I have no idea now if my phone is going to ring, if I should be expecting an email, or if I should be expecting a letter. Seems a little weird right?
It seems like the confusion stems from the fact that ABSN is done but not MSN. They will definitely call admits, as well as send out a letter.
Alright all you regular decisioners, I have some good news!!!! I was just called by my interviewer at 11:35 am and told I was accepted into the BS portion! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!! She said we will not hear about the MSN portion till late February/early March and have until that notification to make our deposit. Good luck everyone!!!! Sorry if this makes everyone even more obsessive about your phones (I know I was) but I thought you would want to know!
CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance, Bayeux! :yelclap: And thanks for letting us know. :)
Did anyone else on the forum just apply for regular decision BSN (non-accelerated and without MSN option)? Are we supposed to be finding out now, too? Our apps weren't due until Jan 15th, so I wasn't expecting to be notified this early. Just wondering....
Regular decision applicants for the traditional track hear back later than accelerated students. If you look on the threads from previous years, I think they hear back during April. Also, the admissions office will sometimes defer accelerated applicants for consideration for the traditional track if they are not admitted to the accelerated program.
I also got a call this morning! They have done the Accelerated BSN portion and we should be notified of our master's decisions by Feb. 24th!!!!
So happy...too bad I have to study for a microbiology test tonight, hahaha
I am also a regular decision, traditional BSN/MSN applicant I have been trying to figure out our timeline from this thread and last year's, but it's hard to tell. Most of the discussion is about the ABSN or early applicants.
I had my interview for the MSN program on 2/15 and I have another interview next week. I am applying to the midwifery track so there are two directors of that program that I have to interview with. My interviewer said we hear about the MSN in early to mid March. But I understand that the BSN and MSN decisions are completely separate and will come at different times.
I also got a call this morning! They have done the accelerated BSN portion and we should be notified of our master's decisions by Feb. 24th!!!!So happy...too bad I have to study for a microbiology test tonight, hahaha
Congrats mef06011! It looks like we don't need to send in our deposit until March 30th which is really nice because we will probably hear back from financial aid by then, don't you think? Good luck on your micro exam tonight!
Do you guys think that all the calls for the accepted accelerated students have already gone out?
Hi yogaseli,
Based on all the postings for JHSON both this year and last, I wouldn't assume that the calls all went out today. It looks like people always hear back in waves, some even a week or two after the rest. Hang tight and good luck!
