Greetings Everyone!
I know this is early to make a thread for the Fall 2011 Hopkins Applicants! But still, it is better to start getting ready than waiting at the last minute! I highly suggest everyone start getting your letters of recommendations, and just hide it until you are ready to apply. I will be applying and submitting my application around September 2010 as an early decision applicant for Fall 2011.
I have to finish up Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Developmental Psychology, and one more chemistry class this coming Summer 2010. During the Fall of 2010 and Spring 2011, I will be finishing up just general requirements like history, Microbiology, English Composition, Statistics, some foreign languages, and humanities (elective classes).
I will be applying for the BSN Traditional Program considering I do not have a degree, thus, I am not qualified to apply for the accelerated program. I'm really excited about this.
I will only be applying to UPenn and Johns Hopkins University for my BSN traditional program. If I do not get accepted, I will be attending my current university's school of nursing. I am already in the university's nursing program, but I don't start clinical preceptorship until 2 years from now.
I will graduate May 2013 regardless where I go. Either JHU or UPenn or stay at my current university.
If I will be accepted at either JHU or UPenn, then definitely I will be attending those schools! I love nursing research, and I want to learn more about research and providing quality care to our patients.
We will see how it will go. I have six months until I submit my application to both schools. Remember time is running fast.
Hope everyone are doing well on their pre-requisites! Good luck to all!
Feel free to post around so we can help each other for Fall 2011! I've read the thread for the JHU Fall 2010. I've noticed everyone in that thread got accepted, and some waitlisted! Its a good sign!
Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations to those accepted!! And to those still waiting good luck, I am sure you will hear soon. When I got my call it was at 3ish pm california time, so they tend to make calls late in the day (I was early decision for accelerated so i found out in Dec.). They also make calls for a few days.
I also received a call earlier today and I got my official acceptance into the MSN/MPH program as well!! woo hoo! I had only been accepted into ABSN up to this point. It took almost 2 months for them to get back to me regarding the MSN/MPH....
I look forward to meeting everyone Accepted Students Day!!! And good luck to those waiting. Hang in there you will hear very soon!!
I am also a regular decision, traditional BSN/MSN applicant I have been trying to figure out our timeline from this thread and last year's, but it's hard to tell. Most of the discussion is about the ABSN or early applicants.I had my interview for the MSN program on 2/15 and I have another interview next week. I am applying to the midwifery track so there are two directors of that program that I have to interview with. My interviewer said we hear about the MSN in early to mid March. But I understand that the BSN and MSN decisions are completely separate and will come at different times.
Hi Liz, I have applied to EXACTLY the same program as you. Upon hearing from you, I am doubly worried. Yes, I did get my application in on 1/13, but I haven't heard a peep about an interview for anything, and as the days go by, I feel less hopeful.
Hey DiamondCoffee - no need to feel foolish or start worrying yet. It sounds like you applied for the traditional BSN program and I'm pretty sure that they are only confirming admissions decisions for accelerated students. The timeline for interviews, decisions, and admitted students day are all different if you applied regular for the traditional track.
Thanks fried, for this reassurance. Still, I can't help but feel I should have heard SOMETHING by now! I feel really nervous!
I'm also a regular decision, traditional BSN person! I was wondering if there were many of us on here. Has anyone heard about an interview?
hey Je88,
Good to know someone else is in the same boat! Was wondering where all the trad BSN (without MSN) people were! :) I haven't heard anything back about an interview yet. Haven't gone through the past year's threads yet, but when I have time to I will. I'm not really expecting to get in though as JHU was sorta a reach for me. I think I have a strong application, but I know this is one of the top 5 nursing schools in the States.
Wishing you and anyone else reading the best of luck! Lets (trad BSN, non accelerated, without MSN option) all update the forum with any news we hear!
