Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency Program 2020

Nurses New Nurse

Hi,

I have applied for and received an invite to interview at JHH on a pediatric unit. I figured since there are previous threads for past years I'd start a new one for 2020 hires/start dates! Lets all keep each other informed and updated through the process.

Hey all! Recently graduated, passed my NCLEX, moving from PA, and will be starting at JH on October 5. Currently apartment searching (kinda) but I realized that I don't have rental history and my current job salary is not sufficient enough to cover the rent of the apartments that I'm looking at. Does anyone have experience with this? Will my offer letter be OK as my proof of income? My credit is good and I have no criminal history if that makes a difference.

@mintmojito I’m also moving from PA(Philly) starting October 5th. I was able to get apartment with giving them my offer letter. That was sufficient enough. Question for you, how long did it take to get your ATT letter and license in PA? I am going to be taking the boards end of August! Thanks. Any other questions feel free to ask me! There are several apartment communities in Mount Vernon which is a great neighborhood for $1000 or under for a one bedroom or studio.

HI! Sfemt93 I’m from Brooklyn as well! I have an interview July 21 for the Brain Rescue Unit and I also scheduling an interview for the colorectal surgical oncology unit as well When do you start at JH? I believe my hypothetical start will be August 31. Are you looking for a roommate?

Hey! Saw you asked about roommates and thought I'd reach out! I'm from Upstate NY and so excited to start in the Weinberg SICU in October. Let me know if you're still looking for a place/roommates!

@Iyss613

yes I’m definitely still looking for roommates. My interview is this coming Tuesday. After that I should know if I’ll be moving there for sure ! I’ll probably start in as well. Do you want to PM me your info? I have A longtime friend who lives in Baltimore who’s going to help me find a place in a safe neighborhood and show me around Etc

I’m moving into the luminary at one light apartments if anyone is looking for an area or apartment close by ☺️

Hello! Just thought I’d add to the thread since I have an upcoming interview as a new grad in the CVSICU. If I’m lucky enough to receive an offer, I’d be moving from across the nation ? So if anyone is still looking for a roommate in Baltimore, I’m anticipating I will need one too! ?

Glad to see fellow NYer's making the move to MD! I signed a lease for a one-bedroom that's close to the hospital. Comparatively, Baltimore's cost-of-living is much less than NYC. Wish the best of luck to ya!

Hey y'all,

I'm an out-of-state nurse coming to Hopkins. I wanted to hear y'alls experiences of applying for licensure by endorsement (slightly confused on the process) for MD. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! not sure if I'm replying to this! I'm starting either August 31st or Oct 5th depending on how fast I can transfer my PA license to MD! I just got a studio in the Mount Vernon neighborhood and an offer letter was all I needed for proof of income!

I'm also moving from Philly! My name is Anna Bennett if you want to find me on social media. I took my NCLEX on July 14 and just received my PA license today! Takes about 2 weeks after the NCLEX. I'm getting a studio in the Mount Vernon area!
