Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency Program 2020

Published

Hi,

I have applied for and received an invite to interview at JHH on a pediatric unit. I figured since there are previous threads for past years I'd start a new one for 2020 hires/start dates! Lets all keep each other informed and updated through the process.

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

Also applied for JHH Nurse Residency Program on the Cardiovascular Surgical ICU. Got an email to complete my references, waiting for them to email me to schedule an interview.

Hey again guys, just been invited to interview today. Waiting to get a response. Is anyone coming from out of state as well? I’m an applicant from Florida :)

Hello! Is this for December graduates?

December graduates and anyone else who will probably have a 2020 start date

Hi all! How long after your status changed to "forwarded to department for consideration" did you receive any updates/emails?

For me it was all very weird. I applied to multiple positions. My application for the peds unit got "forwarded to department for consideration" and I was not contacted at all even after a week for that position. The status eventually changed from that to "check back for other opportunities". However, I received an invitation to interview for the ICU bridge unit on 11/4/19(Monday) and I went to check the status and it said "under review". It changed status to "forwarded to department for consideration" on Tuesday afternoon which was the day after I received an email to interview. The 2019 thread said it took a couple of days for applicants to receive an email but for me I received the email prior to the status change. Right now I'm still waiting for them to send me the Skillsurvey link to input my references and a date for the actual interview.

Hi @Ludakris! Which peds unit?

It took about a week from when I saw my status change to “forwarded to department for consideration” to be contacted to schedule an interview. I got an offer 2 days after my interview for the NICU and accepted!

Wow that was really quick @Notes95j. I still haven’t gotten a follow up back after being invited to interview. Can you tell us about the interview process? Are u out of state as well?

@Ohhhpaulo The whole day was about 5 hours long. I checked in with HR in the morning, interviewed with four managers from the unit and a charge nurse. After that I spent a hour with a nurse on the floor, had time for lunch, and then met with HR again to review salary and bonuses. The interview questions were all behavioral questions so it wasn’t too hard!

That sounds like a pretty doable day! I’m also waiting to hear back about interviewing.

Would you mind explaining And detailing the pay on here? I know it seems to be a taboo topic these days, but I’d like to know what I’m getting into, haha. And also clarification on what I’ve been seeing regarding a “salary vs. hourly” model. Thank you!
