Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency Program 2020

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi,

I have applied for and received an invite to interview at JHH on a pediatric unit. I figured since there are previous threads for past years I'd start a new one for 2020 hires/start dates! Lets all keep each other informed and updated through the process.

@ERLeff let me know how your endorsement process goes for MD. I’m curious to see how fast a temp license is given. Has anyone had this done yet? Applying for endorsement? Do you get a temp license quickly? I have a very small window of time but am going to make it work!

I got in contact with Nurse Recruitment about a month ago and they told me that they would allow me to start with my license even though its from a non-compact state as long as I've filed the application for endorsement with MBON. Not sure if that includes getting a temp license or not they didn't say. I had originally tried to apply for direct licensure in Maryland but they are SO SLOW. I actually spent several hundred dollars to get licensure established here in NJ and abandoned my application with them. A long and expensive story. So I've lost any sort of faith in MBON getting an endorsement or temp license done with any sort of speed. I hope others have had a different experience and that they will not continue to give me headaches LOL.

Thanks @ERLeff. That was really helpful. I’m getting my license in PA first before I do anything in MD. Apparently MBON is horrible, but for endorsement, I’ve read that you get a temp license within 36 hours. That’s good to know they will allow a start if endorsement is pending. Thanks for revealing. Good luck on your NCLEX! You will pass, we’ve made it this far!

Well sh--, good to know haha I take mine Wednesday and just finished up UWorld

Goodluck! Try to take deep breaths! You can do it! I also used the NCBSN NCLEX-RN Review and it really helped! I did the pearsonvue two NCLEX RN practice tests too and had a shocker! I didn’t go through all UWorld question banks (maybe about 1000ish) cos I felt they were too easy.

Glad you passed @RNBSNMay2020! I will be taking the Hurst Review August 5-7 with plans on taking the NCLEX soon after I get my ATT letter, as my last class finishes August 4th. I will be moving September 5th, so my goal is to take it before I move!! Look forward to seeing you guys!

Goodluck! You can do it!

Hey y’all,

I received an invitation to interview and request for references last Wednesday. Waiting to here back which date/time works. I graduated in May and took my NCLEX in early June. I would be relocating from Denver for the opportunity! Great information in this thread, thanks to all of the contributors.

Just got word that the interview will be Wednesday July 8 @ 0700 MST. Whoops, I failed to specify times and just have them my days off. I am glad I don’t work the night before! I love mornings but the day after my night shifts I am usually not my most energetic self!

NCCU! So we will be in the same critical care cohort!!

Hey CWNursing — I know it’s been a good number of months since you’ve posted and you’re well on your way through orientation, but if you’re still around I’d love to hear about your experiences on the NCCU! I have worked as a tech for the last year in a Neuro ICU and have been invited to interview for the unit!

Hi guys! I was just offered a position in the ICU Bridge Program. I am from San Diego, wondering if anyone else here got a job offer and we could chat? You can message me on my Instagram @maddycharette

I would love to hear from you!

Hi Maddy @Maddy Charette, I'm "vitaminb03" and I just Instagram followed you. I was offered a different position at the Progressive Cardiac Care unit. I just want to know how long it took you to receive their offer email? My floor manager called me and delivered this oral offer and asked me to respond to an offer email, which I haven't received for over a week.

WOW! what a move! I thought moving from NJ was a lot. CONGRATS on the offer I will be starting in early August. I'll drop you a follow feel free to ask any questions!

Hey there,

For those of you who recently interviewed -- how was the seminar from HR scheduled? The initial e-mail had said it was the same day in the afternoon. I received the link and time for my interview and it seemed like it indicated that I'd receive a link / more information on the details for that prior to the interview. Just trying to make sure I keep my schedule open so that I can attend!

Hey everyone ,

I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimated timeline of the application process? I applied to multiple units that were open to New Grads mid-June and my application status still says "to be reviewed" ? I would love to work at Hopkins but Im starting to think I should apply to my local hospitals.
