Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen a thread for it yet, so I'm starting one for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing program for Spring 2022. I started my application last week and hoping to finish it for the early deadline on July 1st.

Hi! I've also started my application, but I probably won't complete it until mid June. I'm a fourth year studying public health and I graduate in 6 weeks!

How exciting!! A huge congrats to you! :') Are planning on applying anywhere else as well? I'm currently in the middle of answering the first essay question where it asks why you want to be a nurse. It's actually really difficult to fit everything with such little character count.

Thank you! I applied to OHSU at the start of the year, but I was waitlisted. Other schools that I am interested in have their applications open toward the end of the year, so this is the only application I am currently working on.

Agreed!! It's really difficult writing the essays with the word limit.

I was rejected to two schools last year but then I realized that everything happens for a reason. Hopefully we have a better chance with Hopkins! And Same! Most of the schools I’m applying too are for Summer or Fall start and they’re not due until the end of the year. I was actually planning to apply to Hopkins for Fall 2022 at first so that I could apply to all the schools all at once but then I said why not to applying earlier!

Nursing programs in my state have pretty small cohorts, so I am hopeful with Hopkins since they have such a holistic approach to applications and their cohorts are practically triple the size of schools I've applied to.

One thing I am not looking forward to is the time between submitting application and hearing back. I know it's still a long time away but I can already feel the anxiety!

Hey! I’m applying to the program for Spring 2022 admission! I’m currently in the process of completing my essays (which I hope to finish before Memorial Day) and will then submit my application. I’m extremely nervous!

Yay how exciting!! I’m still working on both of my essays right now :’( I’ve been working on it since April but it’s just so hard because of the limited word counts. I’m also extremely nervous as well, I know they look at everyone holistically but it’s still makes me wonder what makes or breaks your application.

I agree! I started the application earlier this year but the essays are definitely giving me trouble since I want to say so much but have to remember the limit. Haha!!

It is very nerve wracking!! I am rooting for you though! I am finishing up my bachelors (I'll be done in 2 weeks!! :)) and then I plan on working on my essays and sending in transcripts. It's difficult deciding what to include in the essays so admissions can get the best idea of who I am.

I am rooting for you as well! Completing your Bachelor’s degree is such an accomplishment, so congratulations to you!!

We just have to focus on quality vs. quantity in regards to the essay and we will be fine. ?
