Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!

Published

Hey! I am starting to apply for the traditional BSN/MSN program at Johns Hopkins, and I was wondering if anyone else is out there freaking out about their applications!

Holler back! :nurse:

OMY!!! I GOT IN!!!! i'm so excited!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!

Well, I still haven't heard from Hopkins, so I wonder if that means I didn't get accepted. My husband says that they are probably still making calls, but I don't feel so sure...

What do you guys think? Do you think there's still hope?

SFChef, I feel the same way. :) My husband is telling me the same thing as well. I emailed Denelle today, but got no response. Good luck!

Of course theres still hope ladies! We have until at least 12/15...and thats next Monday :-) They should be making calls until then...I'm just assuming theyre super busy.:p Hang in there with me!

Kinilina, I sent an email to Sylvia, but didn't get a response either. I hope it's not a bad sign.

Okay, I'm going to keep hoping...

For those of you who are still waiting (and for those who didn't get email replies from various JHUSON administration today), I just wanted to let you know that things are generally really crazy around the school this week. Its finals week (for all three cohorts), and in general its just super busy in all departments. (They even had to take care of two students who seemed to have some health problems and collapsed from dizziness?!)

So...I'm sure if they didn't get back to you, there was a very good reason. Take some deep breaths! ;)

yah, don't give up yet! i read from last year that they make calls for a few days! ;)

seriously, i'm sure you guys will be fine! i still can't believe they even let me in, i'm half expecting them to call me back and tell me they made some mistake!

asherah, if you are not too busy with finals and all, and it's not too much to ask, would you be willing to either email me a bit about the program or even get a phone call from me, i'm soooOOOOOO nervous just thinking about it. i seriously never thought i'd get in. i'm still in shock, happy shock, but shock anyway. :)

Does anyone know when us Regular Decision applicants will hear back? Or, does anyone know if the fact that we chose regular decision as opposed to early decision will effect how many are accepted?

So I have my interview for the BSN/MSN accelerated option on Monday. Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm kind of nervous but so excited all at the same time. Does everyone get the interview or is it selective?

In the email I received upon completion of my application from their office said that "Regular decision Accelerated notifications will begin going out by late January and regular decision Traditional notifications will begin going out by late February."

I also wondered if there was any effect to applying early and asked in one of their online chats. Their answer was that they review applications as they arrive and so they don't necessarily have a specific amount of spots to fill for ED or regular decision applicants. They accept people based on qualifications without consideration of reserved spots (but they do have limited space). So it sounded to me that there would be less spots the later you applied. This almost seem like rolling admissions and I even asked them this was the case and unfortunately they answered yes. This is one of the main reasons why I switched to ED. I'm not sure how much of an effect it'll have, but at least I don't have to wait till the end of Feb.

Geez that's such a long time for me to wait. I actually sent in my application several weeks from the deadline so I hope I got a pretty fair evaluation. I was very tempted to do the Early Decision, but I decided not to seeing as how this was not my first choice school and I didn't want to make promises that I couldn't keep should I be accepted to either.

I really hope I get one of my schools. I was rejected from Yale earlier this week...
