Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!

Published

Hey! I am starting to apply for the traditional BSN/MSN program at Johns Hopkins, and I was wondering if anyone else is out there freaking out about their applications!

Holler back! :nurse:

anyone else hear anything?

No word yet, but I finally got an email back from Sylvia and she said the admissions committee is still making decisions and that calls will be made through Monday.

This waiting is driving me insane!

good luck! try and have a great weekend while you wait, (i know, the waiting suuuuucccks....) but i'm hoping for the best for you! :)

I am seriously going nuts...My phone is attached to me at all times. And my heart seriously skips beats every time it rings.

I know exactly what you mean, CaliNurse...every time the phone rings my hopes get high--and then Caller ID says it's someone else. yuck.

So has anyone else been called today? I emailed Sylvia on Tues. and she has still not returned my email. Only one day left to receive a call or I guess Monday as well. This is discouraging, but I keep telling myself I did not get a call earlier in the week because I turned my application in right before the deadline in Nov. I feel I have excellent credentials, nursing aide experience in Trauma etc. So I am sweating this big time. Let me know if anyone else gets in , Goodluck.

I received a call at 4:30ET today that I was accepted to the ABSN -- so calls are still being made. The caller noted that she hadn't been able to reach many people today (for what that is worth). So don't give up hope.

Anyone have any idea how big the ABSN class is going to be for 2009?

I think I remember from an online chat that they usually aim for a class of between 120 and 150 (and the same for the traditional).

Geez, that's a small number and it seems like so many have been picked for early decision. I should have just done that instead of Regular Decision.

Yeah it is a small number and for us guys it is that much smaller. I asked Denelle how many guys are usually in the class and she said there are typically only ten to twelve guys in the class. There has to be more than 10 to 12 guys that apply, I mean there have to be at least 50 you know, so it seems like we are at a disadvantage.

I agree. Now we know what women must have felt like when they were trying to break into fields that were traditionally dominated by men.
