This thread is for applicants applying to Johns Hopkins, for either the ABSN or the new Master's Entry program. I've searched a few times and haven't found a thread for this year's admissions cycle, so I decided to start one.
After lots of thinking, I decided to apply to the Master's Entry instead of the ABSN. Anyone else out there applying?
i have no clue how many ppl apply. anybody know?
@pinkeagle. I'm still waiting from other schools. I wish I could know soon and make a decision asap because I don't want to take other ppl who deserve a spot! I know Hopkins is known for being in a dangerous area; my parents are hesitant for me to go there.
It seems unfair for Hopkins to send out admissions decisions in this way. I'm surprised to hear that they still haven't finalized their decisions (according to jess674's post).
The deadline extension was odd as well; I can't imagine Hopkins having too few applicants to choose from. Weird... but I'm hoping that the admissions process doesn't reflect the nursing school/program as a whole.
I really feel for those who are waiting to hear back. Hang in there!
Jess, I hope so, too! I'm glad you posted just because it's nice to see any update of any kind on here haha. I'm checking my email constantly... Also, I'm in the three classes + working full time boat, too. Last semester it was the same and two of them were labs... Two and a half weeks down, 7 and a half to go, we'll get through it. Goodbye to weekends for now though
i got my acceptance email last friday morning. can't wait to start! has anyone else who has been accepted sent in the deposit and officially accepted the offer?
oh, and @charming_kitty, with regards to jhuson known for being in a dangerous area, a lot of really messed up politics and media portrayals are involved in making east baltimore (and baltimore in general, to be honest) out to be some sort of horrible breeding ground for crime. in actuality, baltimore (and that neighborhood specifically) is pretty safe (which some exceptions, just like any other city) and a really wonderful place to live.

Hey koral! Just saw your post when I was looking back through these. I just found out I was accepted to Columbia and unfortunately... sounds like NYU is just starting to review applications and might not let us know until the summer! What are your thoughts right now? I'm curious what you think of Columbia vs. Hopkins and if/why you might wait to hear from NYU (if it's even possible given the deposit deadlines!). Lucky to have choices, and they are tough ones! Thanks!

cool beans! Taking 3 classes and working full time SUCKS! I did it once and almost flunked my classes before I quit my job and ended up with an A! In my experience, summer time classes (especially at a CC) is super chill and even more so if they're online!
