Is there anyone on here who applied or is applying to the program starting spring 2016?
I just finished the summer session at JTCC which was my first semester and applied to the spring 2016 traditional track. I just moved here from NC in June and I'm so nervous about my application.

Hey, I'm getting ready to apply for the Spring 2016 semester also (although I might defer it until the Aug start due to some circumstances). I moved here last Dec. I also finished up my prereqs this summer. If you have good grades/TEAS test I think you'll have no problem getting in. Sounds like they weigh the TEAS the most now.
Hey!
Have you spoken with your advisor at all? Every time I email mine, it kicks it back saying it can't be delivered. I've called on numerous occasions as well with no return calls. I don't know what else to do.
I took my TEAS almost 2 wks ago and I have been trying to contact her regarding her opinion on my score.
She's probably busy with it being back to school now. That's my guess. But that's tough that she's that hard to get a hold of. I met with mine and emailed a few times in the Sring but haven't tried since then. I'd suggest stopping by the nursing ed center & explaining the problem/trying to catch her in person. The app deadline is Sept 15, so you still have a few weeks to retake it. If you're pretty unsure about your score, maybe study a bunch and take it again in two weeks. Since you get the results on the spot there's no wait involved.
I may try to drive up there by the end of the week if I haven't heard from her. I live on Ft Lee so it's a 45 minute drive to Midlothian. I'm taking my last 2 pre reqs this semester (A&P1 and College Algebra) I transferred from NC this summer. Right now I have a 4.0 curricular GPA and a 3.86 overall GPA. My TEAS individual score was 85.3% with a national percentile rank of 95 and a program rank of 96. Do you think I should relax a little bit or stay on top of getting in touch with her?
Oh you got a great score! I also have a 4.0 and got a 97% national on the TEAS. I was beyond thrilled with that score -- I think we are well above average.. so no, I wouldn't worry at all if I were you. Congrats! :) (Don't know about you, but I studied my butt off for that test and cried while studying I was so stressed! Haha)

hey yall, just wondering if yall were applying to others in the area as well, they are all getting so hard to get into even with high grades and teas scores because so many people are applying. I would recommend applying to at least two different schools. I had a 3.8 and high teas scores dont remember exact score and was put on the waiting list at john tyler; but got into bon secours because they looked at other things such as reference letters and an essay you have to write.
I haven't applied anywhere else yet. I literally just moved to the area in mid June. In fact, I wish in a hotel room the first 10 days of my summer session because we didn't have a house yet. (Military)
I studied for the TEAS for about a week. I have the official study guide from the website so that's pretty much all I used. I do have college level biology and chemistry under my belt though so I think that helped in the science section. I just needed more A&P knowledge.
There were so many people at the information session I attended that I can't help but freak out a little. We were told that most score "proficient" but I can't help but wonder how many did better than me with all their pre reqs already taken. I tend to over think things though. Haha
look into Bon secours it is a great school and it is BSN. it is very challenging but worth it in the end
Based on our scores, we both scored "Advanced" on the TEAS.. so if most score "Proficient" then we are higher than that. I'm only applying to John Tyler. This will be my second degree and I can't afford to go back to a 4-yr school and be out of the work force that long. I'll finish up with a bachelors online once I'm working as a nurse. Do as well as you can in your A&P class and I'm sure you'll be fine. I got am email from my advisor back in the Spring telling us that basically the TEAS test is what counts the most. You'll be fine with your score on that. :)

I have the exact same plan, and in the exact same situation (already have my bachelors in another field, applying to JT, and finishing the BSN online after I start working)!
Do you know if they're still doing in-person info. sessions? I looked online, and it looks like there is only and online info session now.

Hi ladies! I've also applied for Spring 2016. My cumulative GPA is 3.6 and I got an 81.3% on the TEAS which apparently is the 90th percentile nationally and 92nd percentile for the program. These stats fall into the Advanced category, but I'm still stressed that it won't be good enough. I guess all we can do is wait and see! At the information session I attended in the spring they said they were ranking and accepting students based on their TEAS scores. Which is a new development for this semester. I wonder how many students are applying and how many they plan to take!
