Hello! I will be relocating from Michigan and would love any tips you have about living in Baltimore. For some reason it won't let me directly message you. Thank you in advance!!

Hey there ! The areas I’d recommend living are Upper Fells Point (Walking distance but a bit hood that you have to walk through), and Mt. Vernon. Mt Vernon is a highly walkable area and there is a hospital shuttle ! The shuttle also goes to home wood (Charles Village, the undergrad campus). If transportation doesn’t mean much to you other places a lot of people live are Fed Hill, Inner Harbor, and Locust Point. If you’d like to live out of trhe city a lot of people commute from Owings Mills via the subway (takes you directly to hospital), and also Towson, and White Marsh !

Hey Everyone!!

Was just wondering how long it has taken to hear back from an interview? Also has anyone had to request an extension on the 5-day deadline to respond while you wait to hear back on other positions and if so how did that go? Thanks in advance, good luck and congrats to all!

I interviewed yesterday and the manager called me this morning for a verbal offer so it took me a day. Said official offer from recruiter in a couple of days.
The recruiter also said you can extend the deadline and just to talk to the nurse manager you interviewed with about extending it.

Anyone starting 8/26? I will be in the MICU. Relocating from Colorado. What is a good safe town for a family?

Hi everyone! I am a new nurse and recently interviewed with JHH, got a call and a verbal offer after few hours. I am supposed to do orientation this July. Although I haven't gotten an email for the offer yet. Has anyone gotten theirs? How long before you received it?

Also, anyone familiar how the orientation is gonna be or kind of have like an idea? will it be an M to F thing?

It may take them a while to send the offer but don’t worry they are always super behind lol it’s all online these days so you’ll accept it officially online! The orientation I think is 2 days 8-4:30 ish then I think a few days on the unit not sure hours, then EMR training that Friday (away from hospital but there’s a shuttle I think! ).

Hello everyone! I just accepted an offer on the CVSICU at Johns Hopkins and will also be starting on August 5. I am relocating from Michigan. I've heard that Federal Hill is a great place to live for new graduates. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I will also be looking for a roommate if anybody else is also in need of one!! Let me know. ?

Hey!!!! I accepted a job on the CVSICU also :)) I'm originally from the Baltimore area so if you have any questions let me know!

Hey guys!

Anyone applied to Bayview as a New Grad?? I am on the verge of accepting a position on the MICU!

Hi, Congrats to everyone who received a position and will be starting soon! Is anyone willing to share the new grad pay rate that Hopkins offers? As well as explain how their salary & 40 hours/week situation works? Thanks !

Look forward to meeting everyone. I accepted a position on the CVSICU and passed my boards last week so I guess it's official. If anyone wants to get together over the summer I'm willing to meet up.

Has anyone gotten a position in an ICU that didn't have the 120 practicum ICU hours??!

I think out of all the requirements that's the only one they wouldn't overlook unless you currently work on a busy icu as a student.
