I'm starting June 3rd in the Neuro ICU. My start date was originally April 29th (I was told March 24th) which wouldn't have been enough time for me to relocate from Dallas and transfer my license over. Thankfully the nurse manager and nurse recruitment were able to work with me on a later start date.

I applied in February and my status just now changed to "initiating contact for interview". I'm from out of state. Is this an initial screening interview with the recruiter?

All of my applications said "Forwarded to department for consideration" and I was contacted by nurse recruitment within a couple days. I'm sure it's all the same. Nurse recruitment will email you and ask for three dates that you will be available to interview. I'm wishing you the best of luck!

This is for interview with the nurse manager and share day on the unit ! You'll get an email from the recruiter. Don't worry if it takes awhile to get the email to schedule. They are pretty swamped. lol Good luck !

@futureprovider Thank you for the heads up! Good to know. It went one day from "application under review" to "interview" so didn't know if the interview was a screening with the recruiter first as with most programs. I called the recruiting office who indeed told me they were swamped. It's been 11 days since the status changed and still no email. I thought maybe they changed their mind..which can happened I hear. Lol.
I'm set to fly out next week for the interview and share time. One hour with the unit manager seems a long time! Any tips on the content of the interview that lasts this long? Traditional sit down with behavioral and scenario questions? I'm just curious.
My interview with the manager definitely lasted that long! It was also with two of the unit nurse educators. I did not have any scenario questions but did have ones questioning me on my personality and behavior as well as typical nursing interview questions (why nursing, why JHH, why this unit). With that being said, it was also pretty conversational and felt very comfortable!
Good luck!
