Jobs for June 2006

Do you know any hospital that could offer job for nurses who passed the June 2006 NLE? It seems that hospitals discriminate the 2006 nurses... if you call them and inquire, they will say thay "yes" they hire 2006, but once you go to their office and submit your CV and credentials, they would tell you that they are not accepting 2006 as of now until the issue is not cleared yet! I have a friend who passed the 2006 NLE and until now he find it hard to look for a job.. he has no money to pay for the trainings some hospitals are offering, or couldn't afford to volunteer and still no assurance of being hired since he's a 2006! Where in the world these passers would go? if they couldn't find a job in their own country?

what?!

Stupid PRC people!!!

I am also a 2006 june passer and have friends who works now in asian & makati med... just try your luck and keep your fingers cross... but yes, there are descriminations and it's really upsetting most of the times... good luck to everyone...

but we're not allowed to retake the test according to PRC..

:nono: Not true!

I passed the June 2006 NLE. After the leakage scandal broke out, I became concerned about our prospects of being employed in the US.

I read Suzanne's, Lawrence's and others' advice for those interested to work in the US, to retake the exam. After reading and listening to the arguments for, and against, retaking the exam, I made a stand and chose to retake the exam.

My decision was further affirmed by the CGFNS' announcement that they are deferring applications, and may decide to deny, Visa Screen certificates to applicants who passed the June 2006 NLE.

I went to the PRC to tell them I intend to retake the exam, they said I could do so provided that I waive my passing score.

So I wrote a waiver, they accepted it and gave me permission to take the December 2006 NLE.

I reviewed on my own at home. I intentionlly avoided review centers.

I took the entire exam, Tests 1 to 5, and passed.

Problem solved. No more discrimination from hospitals. No more fear of not being given a Visa Screen certificate.

Congrats !! Problem solved, indeed. We can expect CGFNS make their formal announcement soon and if they decide to formally deny visascreens then their is really no choice but to re-take it again in June. 1 year of waiting and protests.. just to re-take it in the end.

Smartest decision that you could make and now you can go on with your life and not have to worry about someone checking up on you.

I applaud you for taking the bull by the horns and just retaking that exam.

Hope that others will consider to do the same.

I do hope CGFNS will make their formal announcement so that all hearsays and theories will be resolved.

I have a gut-feeling that they will before the month ends or if not it's definitely w/in the 1st 3 months of this yr.

yeah, because you decided early enough.. i sort of waited for the issue to settle.. when i decided to retake it, I went to prc they said i didn't make the deadline..

another scenario, a friend asked prc if she could retake on june 2007 and sent them a letter etc.. the BON approved but not rocero.. so there..

it could be an internal policy/procedure.

perhaps, your friend would like to talk/ask ms. rocero herself. the prc chair welcomes anyone who wants to talk to her in her office despite her busy schedule. no prior appointments needed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I don't care much about the content of the decision as long as there is one.

If it is favorable to me, then great; if it is not then I will have to do something about it.
