Also in Georgia here. It took me 3 months actually(got a PRN job at a LTC facility). It's been harder for some folk though. Hospital jobs are probably the hardest, but I'm still determined to get one. Got an interview at one on friday.:yelclap:

I live in a metropolitan area of 5.7 million people, so the LVN jobs are abundant here. I took boards on December 28 in Texas, but for the California BVNPT. I received my results in the mail on January 9, received my actual California license on January 20, and received my temporary Texas license on February 2. I immediately found a job once I received the temporary Texas license. Most of the hold-up was a result of endorsing my California license into Texas.

I sent out resume's with cover letters before I had taken my NCLEX and had people calling me. I received all 205 questions and they were nice enough to invite me back to give me another 205 questions and this time it worked.
I sent out numerous letters, with resume's and cover letters, tried the online application thing and got no where. I went to 5 employers, with copies of my resume and they all called me back and wanted me to start. What a difference.

I'm in California, I just got an offer yesterday, $34/hour to start. That's as much as an RN! Unfortunate because I don't graduate until February.:icon_roll

Not to get off the subject, but I recently moved to Houston from California and it is taking a while to have my CA LVN license endorsed here in Texas. How long did it actually take you? I applied the end of Oct. and still haven't received my Texas license, not even a temporary.

I have been a traveling nurse the past 5 years..here's my thoughts:
I had easy time finding a hospital job that paid well in the Northeast..I was in Delaware and Philadelphia. But be prepared to have a high nurse:PT ratio and earn your money..also lots of communicable diseases. Less RN"itis"apparent..Ever hear the term "warm body"
Washington and Oregon..decent pay..LTC.Rains alot..depression,MVA's and liver stuff
Massachusetts..high cost of licensure and they get away with murder on Nurse:PT ratio..LTC with an inhuman med pass.
South Carolina and Georgia..Hospital work is abundant..but fair to low wages..Lots of HTN, Diabetes and Sickle Cell.
Florida..Clinics,LTC and some hospital..low wages but high cost of living..Diseases and people from all over the world..Trauma?TB? AIDS?Cardiac? Take your pick.
Oklahoma..decent pay with a decent cost of living..hospital work.Texas the same as Oklahoma.
Just my adventures..my thoughts

May I ask where this is? I know LVN's down in SD and they make around 22/hr.
Here in San Bernardino County/Riverside County, lots of jobs. I actually usually quit a job without looking for another one in advance. And i've never had a problem finding another one.
