Started this thread to find out how many of you feel that you have accomplished job embeddedness.
In what type of setting do you work?
What is the culture of your organization?
How many years have you worked there?
What is it that makes you so connected to your job?
Everyone joins for their own reasons. It's not up to you to decide who joins and for what reasons. If I choose to ask random questions I will do just that. Last time I checked there weren't restrictions on what topics I can post and what questions I can ask. This is a forum for ALL NURSES. If you don't like my post then keep it moving and go create your own website where you can tell people what to write.

Nobody told you that you can't post. You don't get to dictate how we respond, either. I'm pretty skeptical, too. When I asked what your answers would be, you ignored me. Nothing wrong with wanting a little more context, so why so reluctant to give any?
I think I will start to feel embedded in a job when I have good coworkers, good management, and I'm paid what I think I'm worth. I've got the (mostly) good coworkers down, my manager is just okay at best, and I suspect I will never feel adequately compensated in this field (based on where I live now and where I would like to live in the future), so embeddedness is not going to happen in nursing for me. I can't have the quality of life the rest of my family has experienced with a career in nursing.

I don't think any of us will ever truly feel or will ever be compensated for exactly what we are worth. It sounds like you are in a good place if you have a decent manager and good co-workers. My last place of work was mostly politics.
Is this a management degree writing assignment on the theory of job embeddedness?
This is just a question asked to get feedback from other people on how well they love their jobs, how connected they are and why. Not a school project. And management is something I would never venture into anyway.
It's interesting to hear from other people because we all live and work in different states and countries. My experiences will be different from the next person and its something I am personally interested in.
Im also skeptical of new members asking off the wall questions about management theories.
Yes I am a new member thank you. And you can be as skeptical as you want. What I don't understand is why all the attacks? What's with the skepticism? People come on here to have discussions which is why I created the topic. So really get over yourself and keep it moving.
