JHU MSN entry Into Nursing practice Spring 2019

Published

I didn't see a thread already. Is anyone applying for Spring 2019?

I also got in! Good luck to everyone. The link for the Facebook group isn't working for me?

Anyone else having the problem? Please advise.

JHU is a top name, but like everyone else I am considering if the name will make a viable difference for me salary wise. I am planning to go on the non clinical nursing side of nursing as I have a decade of business experience. So I think the most important for me is gaining the RN skillset. I already make a six figure salary in my current career and am doing a cost benefit analysis to see if investing this much in tuition will help me in my already decent salary. Are many of you considering this as well?

The name of the group on Facebook is: JHU Master's Entry into Nursing Program - Class of Summer 2020

Let me know if you cant find it!

Also i cant advise on the salary front as I'm just finishing my undergrad lolol.

Congrats to everyone!

It's an amazing school, but I will not be attending!

They have me the half tuition merit scholarship, but Duke offered me a full-ride.

One more person is getting of the waitlist :)

do you receive an email for acceptance or is it sent in the mail? I contacted admissions and they said my decision was in the mail so it safe to assume its a rejection?

You recieve an email and a packet for acceptance (at least I did). I believe for rejections you only recieve a letter in the mail.

Do you guys have any suggestion as to what to do if you are waitlisted? Currently taking some of the pre-requisites, should I send them my current grades or wait until final grades are up? What else can I do to get off the wait list? Thank you!

I was also placed on the waitlist. I accepted my spot on the waitlist via email and am hoping for the best. Any recommendations for getting off of the waitlist would be appreciated!

Hi All,

After a lot of reflecting I decided to not accept my offered spot (as well as a great scholarship, it was an incredible honor!). Hopefully that'll free up a waitlisted spot for one of you on here as well as some scholarship money. Wish you all the best and perhaps I'll be working with some of you in the near future!

Hey Everyone, Congrats on those that got in. My name is Adam and I am a current student, in my 3rd semester. I was also a spring entry. Spring entry has some special challenges so make sure you: 1) sign up for the peer mentor program, 2) ABSOLUTELY take December OFF... no prestudying nothing, nada, zilch. YOU WILL NEED THE REST TO GET THROUGH SEMESTERS 1 AND 2. Feel free to ask questions. I will be on your FB group as well.

Has anyone on the waitlist received any updates?

I am waiting on a decision. Is anyone else? For those accepted, how many members are in the Facebook cohort group? Thanks

Also am awaiting a decision. From lurking on last year's Spring entry thread, it looks like we will probably get an answer around Christmas. Hoping to get an answer sooner so that I can make a decision between my 3 schools!

That puts me in an unfortunate position if the next batch of acceptances is not until December. My prequisite transcript was delayed and held up my verification until mid Sept. I had to request it 3 times after I submitted my application. Hopkins was very helfpful with coordinating with NursingnCAS. I'd rather go to Hopkins than U of MD but we'll see.
