I didn't see a thread already. Is anyone applying for Spring 2019?
First-time poster here! I've also been accepted and was wondering if anyone has gotten a call from JHUSON about scholarships? Previous cohorts have gotten calls about merit scholarships pretty soon after admission and I havent recieved anything yet. Frankly I dont know if I'll be able to attend without any kind of aid.
Congratulations on your acceptance!!
I got an email yesterday from student financial services:
"Our office will begin sending out award notices on each Friday beginning September 14, 2018 to students who apply. We anticipate having all new student applicants awarded by October 2018. However, if your information is incomplete we will be unable to provide an award to you. You can review which documents you need to submit and track their receipt by using the Johns Hopkins' Student Information System (SIS). To log in to SIS please refer to the instructions below:"
The instructions included a temporary ID for me to login to Johns Hopkins University - SIS - Account Creation
I'm sure you'll get an email soon as well.
Cheers!

I got the email as well! So maybe I'll just have to wait and see
How are you guys feeling about the cost of the program? I got a call this morning about a 15k scholarship, which is less than I was hoping for. Wondering if Hopkins won't be a good financial decision considering all the loans at like 7% interest!
Just my opinion, obviously: it's an investment. The degree will pay dividends. Most Entry Masters programs are around the same price. Doing a traditional BSN then an MSN would take longer, which are years I could be working as a Masters-prepared RN salary level, with the most prestigious medical institution next to my name. I hate the idea of debt but I am also a career-changer and older than the average student so for me it is an issue of balancing cost and time. For me, it is worth it even without a scholarship because I am investing in my future.

The cost is the only thing that holds me back from admitting right now. I am hoping to hear back in regards to scholarships because anything at this point would be helpful. Fortunately, I don't have any dependents or any other costs, besides a little debt from my undergrad, so I think I will swallow the debt and attend JHU.

I got a call yesterday and was awarded a 10k scholarship. So you're doing better than me! I am definitely feeling a lot of concern about the cost, but like others have mentioned, I feel it is an investment that I am willing to make. I am going to be looking into some additional scholarship opportunities, I've only done a quick google search so far, but I figure I may as well try.
I am also anxiously awaiting the next round of decisions! Based on the timeline of previous cohorts, decisions are made around the 1st and the 15th. September 1st fell on a Saturday and emails were distributed the Friday before. Considering September 15th is also a Saturday perhaps we will get lucky and emails will be sent this Friday? Good luck!
I also got in! Good luck to everyone. The link for the Facebook group isn't working for me?
Anyone else having the problem? Please advise.
JHU is a top name, but like everyone else I am considering if the name will make a viable difference for me salary wise. I am planning to go on the non clinical nursing side of nursing as I have a decade of business experience. So I think the most important for me is gaining the RN skillset. I already make a six figure salary in my current career and am doing a cost benefit analysis to see if investing this much in tuition will help me in my already decent salary. Are many of you considering this as well?

Hey @Katmwilson1, I had a 3.71 cumulative gpa, 3.9 in my last 60 - 90 units. I also had a good amount of volunteer hours in the ER, while doing a few other extracurriculars in relation to healthcare while in school that I think may have helped. I didn't take the GRE either. Good luck to you!
