JHU MSN entry Into Nursing practice Spring 2019

Published

I didn't see a thread already. Is anyone applying for Spring 2019?

I got in! Got my e-mail around 5:00p today.

I got in! For those who applied for the October 1 deadline, decisions are still going out. I submitted my application on September 14 and got my acceptance email on October 12. If you get waitlisted and do not get a seat, APPLY AGAIN. I got waitlisted the first time I applied for fall 2018, reapplied and got accepted for the spring. Best of luck to everyone and I am looking forward to seeing those of you who have been accepted!

Hey -

I was on the waitlist but got admitted yesterday

I just received my waitlist letter in the mail today, and accepted my position on the waitlist. Does anyone know if they delegate waitlist numbers? I would like to know my position...

Hi I recently got accepted into the Spring 2019 program and would like to know any suggestions on where to live in Baltimore. Do most students stay near or away from campus? Is it more efficient to take the train or bus? Also, if anyone needs a roommate please message me!

Hi everyone,

I am another long term reader, but a first time blogger. First of all many congratulations for all of you who were accepted for Jan 2019. I applied at the end of October and had kept in touch with the woman who I guess organizes the applicant information then to pass over to the Admissions Committee. She has been very nice with answering any questions I had through this process.

From this blog I already know the answer, but I'm still putting it out to all of you, just to validate what I am thinking. I like all you, obsessively check my email over and over to hopefully get an acceptance. Well that never came as the time went on. I emailed the admissions lady and gingerly asked her if any decisions had gone out..that's all. She informed me that my application was in the final stages of the review/decision process and that I would hear something in a week or two. So I waited another week (which took all my strength let me tell you). I still received no word, then at this point I thought "the hell with it, I've received nothing, what am I worrying about at this point anyway? So again I subtly asked again, not for her to say yes or no on the phone, just when were some decisions were going out that's all.

So then she said decisions had gone out "the the mail" the Friday before, and early the next week. Well as soon as I saw the "in the mail", I knew that was it for me. I asked her if their decisions whether they are yes/no, they all go out by mail correct? (I know this answer I just wanted to see how she would respond in my email. She came back right away and said "yes all decisions by the US mail". Sorry to be so long, I'm just asking all of you out there. I read and you all have been accepted through email first, followed up by a letter in the postal mail. I think I saw that those accepted on the waitlight were notified only by mail is that correct? Well at least I know I am not going straight in like most of you, and I still haven't received my rejection letter. I want that just to put this non-admission to rest and move on. I assume I will get my rejection letter in the postal mail, they owe that to everyone.

Again thanks for letting me vent here, I know we have all been through this whether we are accepted or not. They certainly didn't change any procedure now from their acceptances given through email to only through the postal mail? What can the admissions staff say to people anyway? Oh well, I will say thoiugh if another week goes by and still haven't received anything I will call again.

Thanks all for reading and listening. I wish all the accepted students, good luck in January.

Hi Lee Lee, while I don't know the status of applicants I can assure you that you will get some communication in the mail.

If you don't get in this time, try try try again. It took me 10 applications to get in to a Nursing program. Keep at it and be open to all opportunities that come your way. :)

Thanks for the pep talk! I appreciate it. We all know how difficult it is to get into JHU. I have been accepted to a few other programs, so I do have others to pursue..I guess JHU was my "reach" school. But it is what it is..Even though I know the outcome, I just want that letter as I said before, to put closure and a finality of the experience.

Thanks again and congratulations and good luck to you at JHU!

Aim for the moon, if you miss, you'll fly amongst the stars.

Where else have you been accepted, if I may ask?

Yes of course..Emory University, Villanova, University of Pittsburgh..

Sweet! You'll be fine! Plenty of incredible options!

I just worked with a new grad Nurse from Pitt and she was FANTASTIC! Great city too. One of my old JHU classmates is in one of the NP programs at Emory currently though I don't know how he's liking it.
