Thank you everyone for all the informative experiences; I'm definitely a daytime/morning person but I assume as a new grad, I will most likely have to take a night-shift position. I've had a couple friends who have always worked day shift, but I'm sure those positions are a dime a dozen. Thanks again!

Hi @bd2rn, I have heard before that med/surg nurses often get the 'worse cases' dropped on them from the ICU or ED or something.... is that true?

I never knew getting hired into the OR would be possible as a new grad, hopefully this still all applies today. Thanks for all the input!

Hi all, feel free to yell at me to get out of here and research on my own, but I have to ask: what's the point of applying to a new grad residency? To get more educational experience under your belt as you transition into the workforce? Are you all applying to both new grad residencies and hospital/clinic positions?

Hi All, After a lot of reflecting I decided to not accept my offered spot (as well as a great scholarship, it was an incredible honor!). Hopefully that'll free up a waitlisted spot for one of you on here as well as some scholarship money. Wish you all the best and perhaps I'll be working with some of you in the near future!

I've also been accepted :) excited to start the next chapter! Holla if anyone is looking for a roommate in Phoenix, it would be nice to split a two or three bedroom with a student(s) who share the hectic schedule and can respect the nursing student life that's about to rain down on us!

Hey everyone!!! I'm also a Sac native but I live in SF. Just about to submit my app for Spring 2019 as well, so hopefully I'll hear back from CU within the coming weeks. I'm really hoping I get in, this program seems like a great fit for me and Creighton's my alma mater so keeping my fingers crossed for the next month!
