Hello all!
I am so glad I was directed to this discussion forum. I believe it is a great place to share and learn. I am extremely interested in Jefferson's FACT program. I plan to apply for May 2012. I just wanted to reach out to anyone with similar interest and your thoughts on the process. I would like to know who else plans to apply for May 2012 and if your pre-req's have been completed.
Just to share a little about myself, I am completing my BS in Public Health at an online University (3 weeks left!) and have all the pre-req's completed. I am just excited about this next journey.
I also love how Jefferson FACT students automatically are accepted into the MSN program. My goal is to become a Women's Health NP, and Jefferson seems to be the way to go.
I would also love to hear from current students as well.
Hey guys!
I applied as well. I submitted my app on 10/4. I do not have any gpa calcs yet. But I also received the email from TJU. It said that the supplemental apps will be sent out in 3-4 wks. This process is very different from those before. We will be in suspense for much longer!
Anywho, I'm excited to be on this board and hope to be your classmate come May!!
To those who just graduated or just started, Congrats!!! I feel like i know you from last year's thread!
Hi has anyone attended an information session for the FACT program? I am debating between FACT or ACE and I'd like to go see Jefferson. I've been accepted to the ACE Spring 2012 program but I think I'd prefer the FACT program. I submitted my app in sept and I'm just waiting on the supplemental.
Hey krick...I attended the information session for FACT and the 2 year program as well. Jefferson is a really neat campus and I recommend going to see it. As far as FACT vs. ACE, I think there are other posts on the forum that explain ACE. I think it's around the same tuition and the same time (11 months for ACE though). Both are really intense! I will answer any questions I can, or you can go to the source: Niki Kelly who handles the admission process for us.
I am also anxiously awaiting this supplemental app. I was hoping I'd know sooner! Oh well. I wish everyone luck and am happy to share what I know.
Well, I remember Niki saying a few things about the interview. First, dress professionally. Second, think about why you want to be a nurse, why you decided to go into nursing, why you're changing your current profession. Finally, know what a nurse does. Have a firm grasp of what your duties will entail. These answers should be earnest. If you have any questions about the program, the interview is the time to ask.

lmnovak: This year is different because it is the first year they are implementing the Nursingcas application process. From what I understand, they are working out the kinks in the system. Also, apparently they won't be making any admission decisions until after Jan 1st. Perhaps they're trying to make sure all the applicants in the first cycle have an equal chance getting in? That's my guess. It is fair considering that some schools might take longer to send information to NursingCas than others, and it gives time to those finishing up prereqs to bring in their final grades.
