Jefferson FACT 2012

Published

Hello all!

I am so glad I was directed to this discussion forum. I believe it is a great place to share and learn. I am extremely interested in Jefferson's FACT program. I plan to apply for May 2012. I just wanted to reach out to anyone with similar interest and your thoughts on the process. I would like to know who else plans to apply for May 2012 and if your pre-req's have been completed.

Just to share a little about myself, I am completing my BS in Public Health at an online University (3 weeks left!) and have all the pre-req's completed. I am just excited about this next journey.

I also love how Jefferson FACT students automatically are accepted into the MSN program. My goal is to become a Women's Health NP, and Jefferson seems to be the way to go.

I would also love to hear from current students as well.

Hi Fancy84,

Can I ask why you're taking the MET exam vs the GRE exam? I'm taking the GRE exam on Thursday.

I was going to take the MAT mainly because i wouldn't have had the time to dedicate to studying for the GRE before the changes takes place in August. with my schedule right now, i don't think i'll even be able to take the MAT before registration starts. My 40+ work schedule and summer classes leaves very little room to do anything else.

I applied last year without my pre-reqs all completed. I have to reapply this year as soon as nursingcas start their new cycle on Aug. 15. If you want to know more, let me know

Thanks Steillare. Will definitely let you know about some questions that i have

I definitely understand your schedule! I'm not prepared to take this exam tomorrow. But I've never taken it before and figured I probably would have to take it again. I'm just hoping since I don't meet the undergraduate GPA, the GRE exam isn't heavily weighted. I hope my background experience out weighs how well I do tomorrow!

Hey Steillare! Since you've already applied, do you know if admissions weighs the GRE exam heavily if you don't meet the 3.2 GPA requirement?

if u dont meet the gpa requirement, u have to take either the mat or gre

i think i remember someone telling me that its better to score above a 500 on both math and reading

I graduated from the FACT program this year. I loved the program!! The faculty is very supportive and you learn so much. They also really prepare you well for the NCLEX, so stick with their NCLEX Plan for Success because it really works!! I passed NCLEX on my first try and will be beginning my career in pediatric nursing tomorrow. I would recommend the FACT program to anyone!! If you guys have any specific questions about it I do not mind answering them. Good luck!

Congratulations! You found a job quickly! Can you offer any advice on finding a job so quickly? I graduate in May and love it so far! The faculty are just wonderful, so I completely agree with you.

Best wishes on your new job! :)

Hey Steillare. when you applied last year and filled out the non-nurses worksheet, what did you put in the row for baccalaureate degree or did you leave it blank? not quite sure if they want us to list 40 credits of course or not

August 15 is quickly approaching and i'm trying to start getting my packet together.

I was browsing through Jefferson's website and i came across this article on the scholarship for FACT students. Great news for current student and hopefully future students too

To Fancy84,

Just put 40 credits, given that you already have a bachelors.
