Hello all!
I am so glad I was directed to this discussion forum. I believe it is a great place to share and learn. I am extremely interested in Jefferson's FACT program. I plan to apply for May 2012. I just wanted to reach out to anyone with similar interest and your thoughts on the process. I would like to know who else plans to apply for May 2012 and if your pre-req's have been completed.
Just to share a little about myself, I am completing my BS in Public Health at an online University (3 weeks left!) and have all the pre-req's completed. I am just excited about this next journey.
I also love how Jefferson FACT students automatically are accepted into the MSN program. My goal is to become a Women's Health NP, and Jefferson seems to be the way to go.
I would also love to hear from current students as well.
Hi again, OK I understand what you mean. Actually, both ways of writing the email work, for example: if your student key is: abc123 and your name andrew coll, your email is: [email protected] or [email protected] are the same, the system recognizes both as the same address. I would use the [email protected] because it makes more sense for me. You can also call IT and ask if there is a preference of one over the other: 215-503-7600.
Congrats on getting in Mitch30. I'm still trying to figure out how to access the forms for my Dr to fill out. the website is not very user friendly.
for those that are out of state, have you started looking for housing or figured out what area to live? or people who already live in Philly or close by, any reco on places to check out or avoid? will appreciate the info!!!!
@Fancy84 If I were you, I'd definitely avoid West Philly and North Philly. Center City is definitely going to be your best bet in terms of location and overall environment, but also the most expensive. Some great Center City neighborhoods are Rittenhouse Square, Washington Square, and Old City. If you're looking for something a little more affordable where you'll still feel safe, I'd go with South Philly. I have a number of friends that live in great places in South Philly and pay around $500 a month. The Art Museum area is also a great place to live. If you're willing to live a little outside the city, Manayunk is an awesome, young town that will also be way more budget friendly than Center City. Plus, there's a train that goes right into the city from Manayunk. You definitely won't want to drive in unless you're willing to sit in tons of traffic. I'm not an expert on the city by any means, but I've lived in the Philly 'burbs my whole life and have family in the city, so if anybody has questions, I'll do my best to help!
Mrscreixell.......thanks for the info on the email addresses!
Fancy84..........you can access the med forms by going through the website emailed to us upon acceptance. #7 on the list of things we need to do has a link to the incoming students web page for medical services (or something along those lines). Once on that website, click on "student services" on the right side of the page. You can find the forms within the body of the text that comes up once on "student services". Hope that helps.
Stellaire..........I received the email interview just prior to X-mas. I received it before I had a chance to call. Hopefully you receive something soon otherwise, call for a status to be safe.
@Miren......I was told classes start Wednesday, May 16th.
As for the pre-req agreement form...I received mine via email soon after receiving my acceptance letter (also via email).
@Nishtari.....I'm sure if you email or call Ms. Kelley, she will get it to you. I have not received anything via snail mail.

Thanks for responding Miren! What you are describing is the student key. That I have as well as my password. When I go to the email section of the website, it is saying my email is my student key and then "@jefferson.edu". Per the IT letter in the welcoming email, it says that the email will me "first name. last name" and then "@jeferson.edu". So I'm trying to figure out which one is the actual email I will have as a student. The only reason I was looking into it is because the forms that the Dr. has to fill out for the physical asks for your student email.
