Jeff State Summer 2011

Hey! I thought I would start a thread for all the people that are applying for summer admittance into jeff state so we could get to know our possible future classmates. They're accepting 50 on each campus and with the compass completely gone,and the teas v being solely relied on plus course points of course, I think this will make for a INTERESTING admission process to say the least! Any input and comments are welcomed;-)

Lucky u....Mrs gensemer! Needless to say it was her sencond time ever teaching the class and her last time teaching it! Over half the classed dropped...and then probably half the people that finished the class didn't make better then a c...I got a b, barely!

Child I got a C in dr Wilson. I'm taking her over as a mini term starting in march and then I'm going straight into the nursing program! Girl I don't know how I'm going to do it! I'm going to have a nervous breakdown! Hopefully I'll get a A or at least a B. I've heard I need to have my gap as high as possible before getting into the program because your gpa is definitely gonna drop!

your gpa wont drop but it might since you went to Lawson jeff state has a crazy hard science department and the people who fail out are the ones who dont have a good science base and they did'nt go to jeff for their science classes the ratio is like 4 to 1 its not bad you won't be the only guy

i got in jeff state for summer 2011

but i was so excited when i got the phone call i don't even know what campus i'm at hahaha i put either. do they call everyone who got in or will some people get letters too if they got in? or if you get a letter than its a no go? my friend hasn't got a call yet and i got mine wednesday. i'm so sad for her : (

Yeah my situation is quite odd. I was exposed to both science departments. I did 201 at Jeff state and 202 at Lawson..and micro at Lawson, and I feel like all my teachers, especially my micro and my 202 teacher adequately prepared me for ANY nursing program in Alabama. Trust me though Lawson science department is no joke either! I retook 201 at Lawson after receiving a c in 201 from Jeff state and I was in UAB library every day studying last summer.. Even on my birthday" I came out with a high B and it was no joke! And that's one reason why I'm retaking 202. I got a c the first time around and I figure that if I retake it as a mini term and pull out a A, that I would be fully prepared because 202 is a lot of information especially for 6 weeks worth! And with Jeff state, their sciences are hard for NO REASON! It's like they are hard just for fun. I've had friends that say half of the stuff that Jeff state teaches u in 201 and stuff their strict about- like spelling 200 animal parts correctly on a damn lab test and stuff like that, you don't even need! I will agree a good knowledge of anatomy is said to be needed in any nursing program, especially Jeff state, but Jeff state biology department is ridiculous! I hate that people think that just because you take sciences at Lawson that your not adequately prepared. Just as many people if not more that took sciences at Jeff state fail out of Jeff states own nursing program than people that took sciences at Lawson.

Well the only ones who failed first term were people who did'nt go to Jeff also I meant because you are more prepared for the B.S. that Jeff puts you through

Lol oh! I'm sorry if I seem offensive!! Or just heard that so much!but yeah I took Kin for 201 and Ross for 103 so trust mr I know what you saying! I have a question though.I just got my papers from jeff state about the background check that they do. What do they usually look for that says that you CANNOT Go into the program? Like in my situation I have a ongoing case for falsification of a police report. I haven't been charged or anything like that. What do they look for with the background check?
