Jeff State Summer 2011

U.S.A. Alabama

Hey! I thought I would start a thread for all the people that are applying for summer admittance into jeff state so we could get to know our possible future classmates. They're accepting 50 on each campus and with the compass completely gone, and the teas v being solely relied on plus course points of course, I think this will make for a INTERESTING admission process to say the least! Any input and comments are welcomed;-)

Hey!! For those that are interested, I talked to Kathaline Johnson and Bonnie Glass today and they informed me letters should be going out at the end of this week! Bonnie glass also stated that there is no definite number of people that they are accepting this summer- they are still trying to decide! So let's all wish for the best! *fingers crossed*

I got in *******!!!! Summer 2011 here I come!!

I didn't get a letter! Probably not good news for me! :( I may cry! Did they say what the cut off was?

well i didnt get a letter. Bonniie Glass called me and told me I got in! She told me the letters will be coming in by this weekend telling us about immunizations, orentation, testing, ect... im so excited! im sure you got in! what was your total points u appied with?

Congrats better start working on that nursing math summer term is so fun but it will go by so fast that the next semster will seem like it is taking forever

Do u have any helpful tips/ books that will help? I'm trying to be successful as possible, with me being a male, I already know I'm expected to fail in a profession that's dominated by women and I want to prove the nay Sayers wrong!!!

And is starting the nursing program in the summer "harder" ?

No its not hard in the summer I think thats the best time to start thats when I started and we have a lot of males in our class no one expects you to fail I will say this some of the males had a hard time with the pts. both male and female you know the older males really don't want a male nurse oh yeah and get ready to be called doctor alot oh and as for class they do power points for everything and I would say about 90% of the test are from the power points learn the math on your own and you won't have to worry about learning it then in class just block out what they are teaching because they can make it so hard when it is just simple math

Lol yeah I can imagine! I just finished a CNA class at Lawson and alot of the male patients where preferential to women- which I can understand. I mostly just went around checking vitals, changing beds, and feeding! Also I recently just invested in a iPad and have a app caked notarize that I can download the powerpoints to and look and make notes on them a's I go. I'm gonna test it out when I retake 202 as a mini term in a week or so to make sure it really gets the Job done. Which brings me to my other question- I was retaking my 202 class to try to get a better part of the physiology part of anatomy... Is this a good idea.. Or a waste of time? Would u suggest it? Or should I just drop it get my money back and rest my poor little self until the start of the program? And whn does summer semester start? And how many males are in your class? I know I'm asking alot of questions- but I'm just so anxious and nervous and excited all at the same time!

I would'nt take it over rest because this summer you are going to be very busy rest while you can

I haven't got a call so I'm guess there's my answer....I applied with 181 points but I kinda new I wouldn't get accepted since I bombed my teas test! Do u know of other people who have gotten calls.or how many people are getting accepted? Good luck in the program!!!

What's the male to female student ratio like?
