I will go ahead and start this post for people applying to Jeff State Nursing Program Fall 2010. I know there are people out there with questions...I know I have a ton myself...I guess we can start with the amounts of points people are applying with with what classes??This should give us an idea of maybe where the cutoff will be...it was like 186 for Summer 2010!
Update....I went to the Shelby campus today for info on letters. I was told by a nursing advisor that their part of the job is done and they are waiting on the dean and the top people running the program to determine cutoff points and to select who is in and who is out. The advisor told me it was out of their hands and up to the powers that be. She did say she believed a decision was close at hand and letters would probably go out this week. (But that was her guessing based on experience not on any info from the people higher up the chain) She said info about orientation and what we will need will be in the letters. I also verified my points....she had a nice big spreadsheet with everyone blocked out by their points from highest to lowest. I didn't see names, just a glance at the sheet. So it comes down to this, we are still waiting. :)
Hey I go to Jeff and a teacher told me that they were taking 91 students at shelby this fall also do not believe anything you have heard the teachers are great and if you put the work in you will pass it is alot of reading and dont worry about the math it's not hard but you will need to teach yourself
That goes along with what the advisor told me today. She said 50ish for the night time program and 50ish for the day time program. Roughly 100 per campus. She said something about getting 500 applications but I didn't ask if that was Shelby only or combined numbers. And thank you for saying the program isn't quite the nightmare others are saying it is. That makes me feel better to know that not everyone thinks the program is that bad. Thanks for the info!

Well despite what we keep hearing about the letters I still get nervous every time I check the mail. I can't help but hope that all the rumors are wrong and the letters have been sent and mine will be in the box when I check the mail. Now I know it wont be, but I keep hoping. As my dad always says "hope springs eternal." LOL. I guess I know it will eventually be there so why not the next time I check mail? Makes sense to me. LOL
