I will go ahead and start this post for people applying to Jeff State Nursing Program Fall 2010. I know there are people out there with questions...I know I have a ton myself...I guess we can start with the amounts of points people are applying with with what classes??This should give us an idea of maybe where the cutoff will be...it was like 186 for Summer 2010!
Thanks cstarr!! I just checked the home front and no phone call yet..... Did you apply for the program as well?
Yes, but not @ Jefferson State. I attended Jeff State for pre reqs but didn't have a peace about the attending there for the actual program! So I applied elsewhere and it's the same thing...Just sit...and WAIT! LOL!
I really didn't have much of an option. I work so I needed night time classes to fit my schedule. I know someone who recently graduated from UAB's program and they didn't really have good things to say about it so I decided to avoid that one....plus it is day time only. I wish I had applied to other programs....I have all my eggs in one basket and it is making me terribly nervous! Good luck to you with your application....post when you get good news!! :)
Excellent firedance, no wonder you got a call!! I have a friend who also applied to the program with 200 points. I will have to check with her to see if she also got a call. Did you apply to the night program or the day program?
I applied to both programs and also both campuses.
I can't take any of the credit on this one. Although I've worked like crazy in all of my classes, God deserves the credit here. I've spent most of the morning crying. Tough ain't I? Certainly not the reaction I expected to have to this news. (I believe I'm in shock.) You ASSUME that you will get in with 200, but I was constantly afraid that I had messed up and not put something with my app or that something fell out during transport or...
Now I'm having a difficult time trying to work on the class I'm currently in. Gotta go study. My mind is NOT accepting new information at this time. This is a problem.
I know what you mean firedance! I have spent the last year and a half working like a dog trying to earn good grades so I could have the best score possible without having to take a class again. I managed to make it to 190 (that dreaded B in math!) I know a lot of people applied with the full 200 and that has created a ton of worry and stress for me. There are only so many slots and once they are filled that is it. As for crying over the good news, that is a natural response! That is all the stress and worry pouring out of you in a giant sign of relief!! I am super happy for you and I wish you good luck in nursing school! :) :)

Thanks Sliver - I'm sure I'll need it!
Math - ugh. (I love math, it's my favorite thing to do, I love math, it's my favorite thing to do - NOT.)
I was amazed at all the 200s, 190 is nothing to sneeze at and can't imagine that you won't get in with that score!! Saying a prayer for you (and everyone else). We need to remember this when NCLEX scaries hit - I imagine it will be good for a laugh.
I didn't get a phone call either. I only had 183 points, so I was really not expecting to get in this fall. As long as I make an A in Micro this summer, I am hoping to get in by next spring. By then I should have a 193, otherwise I will have to retake Math. Sliverofhope...did your friend with the 200 points get a phone call today?
