Hi everyone! Any January 2018 test takers? I took mine yesterday from 2pm-7pm. I'm pretty sure I bombed. I did not feel confident, had a headache halfway through, and walked out of there feeling defeated. It was the longest 5 hours of my life and I didn't mentally prepare for it enough. I got home, did the PVT 2 hours afer, got the good pop-up. Tried again this morning, still the good pop-up. But i fear that I wouldn't pass the BON's quality check. The waiting game is making me anxious, so I'm hoping to just let it all out and keep myself distracted.
Cheers to everyone who passed! And for test takers, I couldn't emphasize it enough: go in there for a 260-item exam (I took this little tidbit for granted and ended up with a headache). Good luck!
To Victoria...I took the test on 12/28/2017 but for PN. I just got the mail congratulations today. For someone , sometimes it takes longer . Don't be stressed . The PVT trick works
Thank you Skyler. I'm feeling a bit better right now. At first, realizing that all my classmates got their results early and that mine was an exception...I started to really get nervous. So thank you so much for your comment, I'm just going to trust the pvt! And if I actually failed, I'll just pick up and take the exam again
And congratulations!!! =0
Thanks Victoria! I'm sure you passed already . I understand how you feel. All of my classmates got it faster , some of them got it only 3 days after test . It was only me got it like 3 weeks later. But its worth of waiting for . And the PVT trick works for all of us. One of us didn't pass and she got the bad pop up. So PVT trick works
I take my test on January 30th in FL!! I am so nervous! Kaplan came with my school tuition, so I attended the live 4 day course thingy with the rest of my classmates. However I did nothing else within Kaplan. I've been studying for about a month and a half. I first started with Hurst, I watched all the videos and then studied my notes for about a week. Then I did about 3 to 4 75 question practice tests from Hurst's question bank. I then purchased U world, I have done 12 75 questions practice tests from the q bank. I still have over half of the qbank left to go, a little over 1,000 questions. I have been consistently scoring in the 52 to 54% range. I did get 2 scores in the 40s. I got one 64% and then I was really excited, but the next test I got a 57% and then I just got a 49% on my last one. I am feeling discouraged! I have about a week and 4 days left to study, so I am now trying to study my Hurst notes for content and still do 1 Uworld 75 question practice test and remediate per day. I am soooo nervous and can not fail because my dream job is on the line!!

It sounds like you are taking great advantage of your recourses and trying hard!!!
I was discoraged from hurst, 3 out of 4 exams I passed to their standard...but BARELY.
However many of thr qs on my nclex exam were very similar to hurst!!! DurING the exam I was like shoot I should have payed more attention to hurst! Because I had bought uworld too, and decided I liked it better because I got all those questions right lol (I know not a good reason). But you uworld is great too.
The advice I wished I received, was to focus heavily on priority questions. Every exam is different, but I got SO MANY priority qs and studying them will help you answer most all other qs as well!!! But study everything else too
Hello everyone. I just learned today early this morning that I just became a registered nurse. Here's my story. I wanted to share because people's testimonials is what got me through the waiting game and I am forever grateful for your stories. So here goes mine.....
I was in pure agony for several days after I took my boards. I took my exam 1/9 and went all the way to 265 questions. I took a 5 minute bathroom break and for the remainder of the 6 hours I had my eyes glued to my screen. Seriously trying to focus and harness the energy of the NCLEX gods to help me answer the questions correctly. I left the testing center completely defeated. I had no emotions left whatsoever. I had this feeling of imminent doom that I couldn't shake off. Every day and every night for several hours I would search forums and read testimonials about the best way of finding out if I had passed or failed. I was depressed and convinced that I had failed, but still secretly hoping that I had passed.
I would log on to my CA Breeze account everyday and at the bottom left corner it had read "pending" and on the drop down menu it prompted me to reapply for the exam, change my address, or submit additional documents. (This may be the new drop down menu for 2018. This is only a guess.) And on the top right corner it stated "No license information available" Needless to say, I started to panic. I asked myself "Did I fail?" I had doubt in my mind that continued to fester for days. Well on the morning of 1/17 I just found out I passed the NCLEX. Eight days was the magic number for me to know my NCLEX results. I never did the PVT even though I was tempted to do so. I just felt that the BRN is the ultimate and final say on whether or not I would receive a license. Some forums I have read is that you may risk losing money for trying to re-register with a valid credit card with a different expiration date. Some have said to purchase a VISA gift card. The conclusion, I came up with after having read countless of forums regarding this subject matter is this: you just have to be patient and the results will come.
I wish you all the best of luck. You guys are all one day closer to becoming RNs!
My Study plan: UWorld all the way!
Hello Everyone, I am scheduled to take my NCLEX-RN in less than 2 weeks from today. I have been using U-WORLD and KAPLAN as my preparation. I graduated nursing school in December.
Can anyone who has taken NCLEX or used these prep courses tell me if my scores are sounding okay?
Kaplan readiness exam: 72%
Finished all u-world Q bank's being in the 86 percentile, 63% correct out of all.
First u world assessment completed prior to studying: likely to pass.
second u world assessment completed: highly likely, 97 percentile.
I have reviewed my entire content review book and made notes on sections I feel the most week in.
however, I have not spent a lot of time studying medications due to the overwhelming amount. #help
If anyone has any feedback it would be greatly appreciated, I am so nervous and do not feel confident at all (awful testing anxiety)
GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE ELSE SCHEDULED TO TAKE IT
blessings to you all.
Took my NCLEX-rn the 18th and passed in 75qs. Had about 22 sata, no hot spot, no rhythms, and a handful of correct order. Used uWorld almost exclusively, had 350 questions left in the bank when I tested and ended with a 68% average. Took the Kaplan readiness and scored a 72% on that. Tested and went home and got the good pop up an hour later, results were posted to my MN BON application around mid-day the next day! Got my license number that weekend!
Hey guys,
Needing advice and feeling discouraged. I have used Kaplan to study since that's what my school used so I paid a lot of money for it. My scores on qbank range from 48-low 50s. My trainers are mostly in the 50s. I have also read the saunders review book although it was huge for some content review. Any tips or thoughts would be awesome. Feeling very anxious test date is Feb 14th.
Q trainer scores
Q trainer 1 - 60%
Q trainer 2 - 59%
Q trainer 3 - 42%
Q trainer 4 - 37% (I was not focused for this one at all) Bad testing environment and kept getting interrupted
Q trainer 5 - 55%
Qtrainer 6 - 54% (took this morning)
Q trainer 7 - will take next week
Diagnostic - will take the 1 week before test day
Other tests from kaplan
RN practice test - 58%
Nclex sample test 1 - 46%
Nclex sample test 2 - 64%
Who do you see 1st? - 73%
Have not taken the select all that apply test yet.
Part of me feels doomed for the exam. I have studied so hard and reviewed after every test. I have solely been studying for about 6 weeks with 2 weeks to go until test day.
