January 2018 Nclex

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone! Any January 2018 test takers? I took mine yesterday from 2pm-7pm. I'm pretty sure I bombed. I did not feel confident, had a headache halfway through, and walked out of there feeling defeated. It was the longest 5 hours of my life and I didn't mentally prepare for it enough. I got home, did the PVT 2 hours afer, got the good pop-up. Tried again this morning, still the good pop-up. But i fear that I wouldn't pass the BON's quality check. The waiting game is making me anxious, so I'm hoping to just let it all out and keep myself distracted.

Cheers to everyone who passed! And for test takers, I couldn't emphasize it enough: go in there for a 260-item exam (I took this little tidbit for granted and ended up with a headache). Good luck!

Did you use kaplan to study by chance?

I'm really freaking out, I took my test today and got all 265 questions, I also got my last question wrong, I know because I looked it up after the test. Right now I am almost sure I failed because I got the last question wrong. I'm so upset. I'm too scared to try the pearson vue trick. I felt well prepared with Hurst and Uworld, I'm trying to stay positive but I just don't see the logic of how I could have passed since getting the last question wrong. I am just praying and trying to stay positive.

Victoria198 , have you gotten any news?

In response to my earlier post, I ended up passing the NCLEX!!! I am very excited. I strictly used Kaplan and did about an average of 75 questions a day for two weeks. Also, I made sure to remediate every question so I understood why I got it wrong. Good luck to all of you waiting on your results and for those about to take it!

Congratulations! Anxiously awaiting my results. Did your license post to the website at 12:00 am? I am hearing from more and more people in my state (CA) that it is taking around 36 hours to post on BRN website.

The waiting game is truly the hardest part. if you happen to try the Pearson Vue trick, please keep in mind that it will be down for maintenance this evening (Saturday) through early tomorrow morning (Sunday). If you decide to go ahead with it, I would suggest waiting until the website is back up and running! Best of luck to you. I have known people who have passed with 265, I also know really great nurses who had to take NCLEX multiple times. Either way, it's not over for you!

I passed!! So relieved and happy! The waiting was the hardest part! Word of advice to anyone reading: DO NOT take your test on a Friday! Most of my friends that took their test on a week day got their results the next morning! My friend took it on Tuesday at 2pm and got her results at 8am on Wed. But I had to wait 2 days and it was the worst!

I took mine on Friday, 1/26-- got 75 questions in about two hours, 28 were SATAs and found out the next morning that I PASSED. Actually felt very calm and confident throughout the test. I only used Kaplan (the Live Online class) and absolutely loved it! Kaplan focuses mainly on strategy for tackling the questions, instead of just content. I learned tons of content along the way while practicing the decision tree in questions. I really would recommend Kaplan!

What state did you test in? I too, took my NCLEX-RN on the 26th, shut off at 75 and felt the way you did leaving the exam but now, 72 hours later I'm feeling very worried and more doubtful of my performance. I've gotten all good pop ups from Pearson and my application status on BON/BRN still says open/pending. No license posted. I'm in CA. No quick results.

Following up - I passed! I found out the next day (I live in VA). I used Hurst and Uworld and would definitely recommend doing as many questions as you can on Uworld and reading the rationales!

Hello everyone. I just learned today early this morning that I just became a registered nurse. Here's my story. I wanted to share because people's testimonials is what got me through the waiting game and I am forever grateful for your stories. So here goes mine.....

I was in pure agony for several days after I took my boards. I took my exam 1/9 and went all the way to 265 questions. I took a 5 minute bathroom break and for the remainder of the 6 hours I had my eyes glued to my screen. Seriously trying to focus and harness the energy of the NCLEX gods to help me answer the questions correctly. I left the testing center completely defeated. I had no emotions left whatsoever. I had this feeling of imminent doom that I couldn't shake off. Every day and every night for several hours I would search forums and read testimonials about the best way of finding out if I had passed or failed. I was depressed and convinced that I had failed, but still secretly hoping that I had passed.

I would log on to my CA Breeze account everyday and at the bottom left corner it had read "pending" and on the drop down menu it prompted me to reapply for the exam, change my address, or submit additional documents. (This may be the new drop down menu for 2018. This is only a guess.) And on the top right corner it stated "No license information available" Needless to say, I started to panic. I asked myself "Did I fail?" I had doubt in my mind that continued to fester for days. Well on the morning of 1/17 I just found out I passed the NCLEX. Eight days was the magic number for me to know my NCLEX results. I never did the PVT even though I was tempted to do so. I just felt that the BRN is the ultimate and final say on whether or not I would receive a license. Some forums I have read is that you may risk losing money for trying to re-register with a valid credit card with a different expiration date. Some have said to purchase a VISA gift card. The conclusion, I came up with after having read countless of forums regarding this subject matter is this: you just have to be patient and the results will come.

I wish you all the best of luck. You guys are all one day closer to becoming RNs!

My Study plan: UWorld all the way!

what state do you live in? 8 days seems like an agonizingly long time. I'm glad it ended well for you!

Any advice for my previous posts? taking in about 2.5 weeks....
