Speaking of Serentil, one weekend back in the Summer of '92, there was only a Skeleton Crew working Deadwood, the Acute Admissions Cottage of the Anomaly State Hospital, and Three Patients were acting out with Plans to Take Over the Cottage. The Psychiatrist was informed, Orders received for "Serentil all around", and the Goon Squad was summoned.

The Leader of the Acting Out Patients was the First to be given the Injection. As I attempted to Approach the Patient, the Alcohol Wipe was Slapped from my hand. The Goon Squad moved in Quietly and Quickly, put the Patient in a Therapeutic Hold, and I administered the Injection as they Escorted the Patient to the Time Out Room.

The other two Patients allowed their Injections without Incident.

Can a nursing student have a therapeutic intervention as well? I am starting psych rotations next semester. I am afraid it won't fly with me. What advice would you give?

So I'm at my other job this afternoon; pedi Urgent Care. We opened the door 2 hours ago and 26 patients have signed in. Now would be a good time to bring Serentil back into production; aerosol admin through the ductwork. :woot:

It's all over the map, mostly involving fever, but vomiting is up there near the top. We may be the asthma capitol of the world down here so there's a lot of wheezing. Throw in a few lacerations and injuries and it's a real party; it'll go like this until we lock the door at 10:00 pm and get everyone cleared out. I often complain I should have been born rich instead of so darn good looking and I wouldn't have to work like this!!

Yes. But if you weren't born so darn good looking you couldn't get away with wearing the same long sleeved red crew neck tshirt every day.
