Ivy Tech Thread

Published

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

congratulations to all those who made it!!! :yeah:

:):)I had a 212, and I know someone who had a 210 who got in. I know that in the class that just started, someone got in with all A's and an 82 TEAS, I believe.:yeah:

Are you guys using Stedman's?

I am doing some definitions for aphy and some definitions aren't in the book or in our notes...so I was looking them up on the online version of Stedman's and ended up buying it off of Amazon because I figure it will help me out a lot in the future.

Stedman's 6th edition was what was offered at our bookstore. I am going to buy Tabers with skyscape for my Pda though. I like the format better.

I already bought stedman's 5th edition last year during ANP.

Stedmans came in our package "deal" if you wanna call it that. I found our 11 pound Med Surg book online for 3 bucks but I already had to buy the package at the bookstore.

I was more than a little miffed at that. We were basically forced to buy the package because they told us we had to have the Taylor CDs and they only came in the package deal. Couldn't buy them online or seperately.

After I bought all my books, I found the CDs online for like 15 bucks.

Oh well....nothing can be done about it now.

And I just went off on a tangent. LOL

Anyhow, to answer your question....Yeah, we have Stedmans. Honestly, I've never even opened it. I just look stuff up online.

Mom,

Ours were not bundled, we could buy as we wanted. It's funny how each campus does things different. I went ahead and bought everything through the bookstore though. I used FA for all of it. I didn't have the money to shop where I wanted, even though it would have been way cheaper.

What Cd's from taylor are you talking about? The one that comes in the book? Or are there others? I think the one from the book is pretty much a waste of time. I was very disappointed by it. I thought it would have a lot more stuff on it.

What did you have to buy for Med Surg 1, lab, clinicals?

We only have to buy Brunner's & Suddarth, Nurses pocket guide, & the labs & DX book.

I'm all signed up for spring semester.

I have Med Surg 1 on Monday 4-5:50 Lab 6-9:45pm

Clinical Tuesday 3:30-10 pm

ANPH 201 Wednesday 5-9:45 pm

and HIST 101 online

My group is doing clinicals @ Miller's Merry Manor in Logan. Those of you already in your first clinical, where did you go for clinical?

Congrats to all the new nursing students for spring!!!! It is a great feeling to have all the hard work you've put forth be rewarded. I still am feeling the high from it, even @ Week 6!

We have Techknow fest this weekend @ the Kokomo campus. I get to wear my scrubs LOL!!! I am so excited. We get to interact w/ the public and get them interested in Nursing @ IT. Should be fun...

Best of all I'm skipping Micro!!! have I told you how much I dislike that teacher LOL!

I have been SOOOO frustrated not getting ANYTHING from Indy (I even emailed today!). I pretty much figured I was just waiting for a denial...but still wanted to know either way so there was no wondering. So, we had A LOT of things going on tonight and we didn't get home until 9pm. I pulled into the driveway and with my headlights, I could see a letter stuck to my front door. I could see Ivy Tech on the envelope as well. My daughter must've thought I was going crazy because I threw my car into park, ran up to the front door and saw THE LETTER! It was mailed to my OLD ADDRESS!!!! The new owners brought it over (I WONDER HOW LONG THEY'VE HAD IT!!!!!) My heart kind of sank b/c I was waiting for a thick envelope...and it was thin. I opened it thinking it was "sorry..." and saw an orientation date. I thought "that's just mean, rubbing it in!" lol!!!!!

I GOT IN!!!!!!!!! Whoa...I feel better...just KNOWING!!!! lol! So...I can now OFFICIALLY stop stalking the mailman (poor mailman! lol!):D

Congrats Nurse2B4777!! :D

so now that we are in the program.... does anyone know about uniforms, how the schedule is layed out, and other tidbits?

Congrats on getting in. I would suggest getting your address changed at the school ASAP since you may miss other important information.
