I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
Congrats to all of you that were accepted!!It's an awesome feeling, isn't it? All that hard work is finally paying off!!!
Seriously, those of you at the Lawrence campus. Enjoy your free time now while you have it. People told me that before my classes started and I brushed it off. Let me tell you....I wish I had listened!! First semester is very taxing emotionally, pysically, spiritually, etc. It's not overly hard material, there's just a lot of it all at once. It's super fun though, and very interesting. And all the instructors are fantastic. Don't listen to the horror stories about horribly mean instructors because all of ours are amazing people that really care and want every student to succeed.
k....I'm done now. LOL
Congrats again!!! You all earned it!!
Hey Mom-
I took this semester off coreqs, etc. so I could chill before Jan. I am indulging in taking naps and everything else I will have to throw out the window once school starts. I am glad to hear the instructors are great-I HAVE heard freaky things here and there. We have our orientation Oct 29th and the letter states we will register for classes then. I have mapped out my first, second, etc. choices when it comes to scheduling classes in the spring. How do they prioritize registration? Lottery? Grades?
Thanks!!!:wink2:
Indy and Lawrence are different campuses. Nursing classes are only offered at Lawrence though. Everyone refers to Lawrence as Indy where Nursing is concerned. Makes a lot of sense, right? LOL
Thanks for that clarification!! At least now I feel like my confusion is justified...lol!!!:chuckle

At Lawrence, you don't get to choose your schedule, they just make one for you. I did the same thing as you...looked over and over the classes trying to coordinate my schedule..all for nothing. The way it works out is you either go Monday through Thursday-Thursday being your clinical day or Tuesday through Friday-Friday being your clinical day. You will have 2 full days (8:30-3:30 & 6:45-3:30) and 2 half days (one almost 3.5 hrs and one 2hr day) at least that's the way our schedule is now. Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks for the information!! Why the heck do they put a schedule up then??? At least I'm relieved to find out they don't schedule night classes or late afternoon classes. Do the half days start out early morning or mid morning, or is there a mix? Wondering about after-school plans for my kiddos.....:bowingpur

I think that there is a mix, but not sure. I have my 2 full days on Tuesdays and Fridays, on Wednesday I go from 12-3:50 ( i think?? - they let us out early sometimes so I really forget when the class is supposed to end ) and on Thursday I have lab from 10:30-12:30. Yea, I wondered why they even post a schedule, too. Also, one or two of the clinical sites run late...I forget exactly the hours..ends at maybe 7 or 9pm..sorry not really sure...just REALLY glad that it's not me!
Hey Stacy-I applied and was accepted to the Lawrence campus. Can you tell me if there is a Lawrence AND a Indy nursing program in the Indianapolis area (meaning a nursing school downtown) or just Lawrence? Whenever I see that people applied to Indy, many times it means the Lawrence campus....
What program are you in?
I read ahead and saw that someone already answered this for you! Congrats again!!
Here is my first semster schedule.
For the first 5 weeks, we had Fundamentals Lecture and Lab, along with Pharm.
Monday 8:30-11:20 Fun. Lab
Tuesday 8:30-11:50 Fundamentals
12:30-3:20 Pharm
Wed. 8:30-10:20 Fun. Lab
Thurs 8:30-2:20 Fundamentals
Starting Week 6:
M- 8:30-11:20 Med Surg Lab
12:30-3:20 Med Surg
T- 12:30-3:20 Pharm
W- 8:30-10:20 Med Surg Lab
R- Clinical 6:45-3:30
Our first clinical day, they told us to plan to be on site from 7-5 but we were out of there around 3:30.
You will not get to choose any aspect of your own schedule. They have it already planned out as far as sections, etc and you have to take what they give you. Like someone else said, you will either go M-R or T-F.
I'm not sure what 2nd semester is going to look like, but I'm pretty sure we will have 2 clinical days next time.
congrats to all who made it!!!!!!! i hope to be in class with some of you this spring!
hang in there all who are still waiting. a girl in a one of my classes right now got into indy (law camp) with a total score of 210 so that may bring some of you hope!
keep us posted on the letters when they come, we can't wait for you to share in the overwhelming joy and stress to follow!!!!
