I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

Fantastic! Thanks!! My letter says we have to pay $80 lab fees the day of Orientation......will they let me use financial aid for that fee and the uniforms? If not, I might be telling my landlord to take a number this month. LOL

I am not sure about the financial aid. Since it is basically an "outside" charge, then probably not. If I remember correctly the fee was to the Student Nursing Association.....I think. There will be another $83 charge on your Ivy Tech bill for ATI fees, but I think financial aid will cover that just like it would any other class expense. =)

Geeeezzzzz......I always thought the financial aid would cover any school expense, especially if it is required. They still haven't gotten my financal aid for Fall organized yet. I turned in the verification forms a long time ago and the website still says the review is pending. Grr!

Looks like I might end up having to pay a ton out of pocket. That $80 fee is for SNA. It says it is for lab supplies. Financial aid should pay for that stuff...that aggravates me.

That's funny, because I was told that in South Bend we will need white scrub pants and hunter green tops. I was surprised because that is what the Spring LPN class is wearing. I think maybe everyone will wear the same thing now like at IU.

I do think though that you can buy them cheaper elsewhere and still bring them in to get embroidered. I know I am going to need to buy lots of extra white scrub pants!

I wish I could say yes, that would work--however, you have to buy the uniforms through the Uniform House if you are going to Indy. There is a store downtown and one in Carmel. They are Cherokee brand and consist of white tunic scrub top and green pants. The sizes run large so I recommend going in and trying them on. You will need two name tags too, which the Uniform House will make right there. Once you order your uniform and labcoat, they will embroider the Ivy Tech logo and call you to pick them up when they are done. I think the whole uniform runs about $60.

Things are constantly changing, so that may be the case. The financial aid office might know. When is your orientation? You will get a ton of info then. I would wait to purchase uniforms until after orientation. I know it is hard to wait, but if they have changed the items needed, I would hate for you to have the wrong things. :heartbeat

Orientation is June 26th. Yeah, i'd hate to buy a bunch of useless stuff too. I so wish we could buy them other places though. Scrubs and Beyond is right down the road from me. I'm so glad all this waiting is over!! LOL
