Ivy Tech Thread

Published

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

Congrats to everyone.

It seems like I am the only one in Indy that did not get their letter today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'll cross my fingers & toes for you!! My friend has received hers either. She only lives down the street from me, but it seems that her mail is always a day behind mine.

Congrats to all who are in & good luck for those still having to endure the wait.

Yeah, I have a friend that lives in New Castle and applied in Indy and she received her acceptance letter today. Go figure!

Wow so many happy nurses to be tonight!!!

Congratulations everyone!!!

I wonder if any of us are going to have classes together.

Wow, it's great to see everyone is getting in! Congrats! I got sooo excited today when I checked the mail and saw a letter from Ivy Tech. I tore it open, heart racing and all, only to see it was a reminder that I need to pay tuition for Micro this summer before it starts or there will be a $25 late fee. So, I went up to my campus, (Gary) because I thought I would be able to take out a stafford loan for this class only to be told I have to be enrolled in 6 cr. hours for a loan. So I had to shell out close to 500 for that. I then decided to head to the nursing office to see what the deal was on our letters, only to be told again (called to ask about 3-4 weeks ago) that they weren't going out until sometime in June. So I asked when, early June? Late June? "I don't know, they're (nursing faculty I assume) won't be back until next week, and there's a lot of work involved so you just need to be patient and check the mail throughout the month of June." I kindly thanked the secretary and went on my way, annoyed to say the least. Our app. deadline was April 1st just like everyone else, so why are our letters going out so late? Also, we were told at the info session that they only have 80-100 applicants per semester, way less than the campuses around Indy, so what's the hold up? I'm pretty confident I'll get in (all A's and 92 TEAS) but there's still that WHAT IF (maybe there was a prob with my app) in the back of my mind. I don't know if I can take another month of this! Sorry just had to vent. Again congrats to everyone that has gotten their letters! Hopefully I will have good news to share "sometime in June" HA!

Hi, I had applied to both gary and valpo, got my letter for valpo and got in with 3 a's 1 B(HATE English!!!) and a 90 on my teas. So Im sure you will get in. I think that they are just trying to drive you crazy. Good luck and Dont worry too much.
